OK this is my first post and first of all, AWESOME job on the game. I am a dota pro and after playing this I almost don't wanna go back to dota even for competitive play :P
These are my suggestions that should really be taken into consideration since I know what I'm talking about when I talk dota. I will also use DotA hero names so everyone knows who I'm talking about.
-Pudge: One of my favorites in dota, but one of the only heroes in HoN that I find less badass than its dota counterpart. First of all, you absolutely NEED to fix rot during his ultimate. In dota you can toggle rot on and off during dismember without cancelling it, which is really clutch. It's not such a huge deal to many, but for me, just that makes me want to avoid the hero altogether. As for aesthetics, I do miss the hook sound effect and the FRESH MEAT a lot, but I know that you don't want to copy DotA 100% so I'll let that one slide But for me bringing back the real hook would mean a lot.
-Bristle Back: The only issue with this hero is that you have changed how quill works. In order for it to look cooler and splashier, you made the quills fly up in the air and then land on units (which looks fine). The problem is that they don't do "instant" damage like those in DotA. That was bristle's one unique ability that made him awesome. Trying to last hit with quill in this game is ridiculous. So please change quill to do damage to ALL units in the AOE at the exact same time as quill is casted, or else the hero is ruined. (ruined for the laning part of the game at least)
-Tiny : Avalanche looks good and and the hero is pretty badass in general. I do see fail in the toss mechanics and aesthetics though. Once again, the toss in DotA is more badass because: a) the sound effect hits hard when you use it (rare in DotA but common in HoN) b) tiny actually tosses the unit. I think you need to add a better animation instead of a spike of rocks coming out underneath the hero to make him fly (and add a sweet sound effect as forementioned). I have also noticed that sometimes you can toss units onto an enemy hero and the damage just doesn't go through at all.
I know it's long but I strongly suggest checking into these changes because I know that a LOT of people from DotA would agree with me. I love change and I support this game 100%, but other players may not be in the same boat. Fixing these things will surely attract more players!
In general, I think in game problems will get fixed (hopefully) before the official release.
I try to concentrate a bit more on the experience a player has before entering a game. I find that the pre-game experience is worth as much as the actual in-game experience.
You guys have done an amazing job of this all around. Feels like a battle.net 2.0, which is great. The only suggestion I have is how games are started. My 2 leaves (on my record) has nothing to do with leaving a game out of frustration, but rather leaving because the host started the game before my buddy was in, or kicked him to allow one of HIS buddies to join and I didn't notice.
That being said, the only mechanism that needs to be added is a simple one. Ready buttons for everyone, when everyone has clicked, an automatic 10 second countdown starts. The players then have 5 seconds to unclick ready for whatever reason.
