Hey Training Grounds, I am an avid support player in need of some possible help. I love to play Glacius, and I just played a game where I think I did pretty good with supporting my team. This match was against really low psrs, ranging from 1100-1600, so I know it's not too great, that's why I'm asking for the higher psrs builds and suggestions to improving my play.
Match 13499211
My general build for Glacius is;
Tundra/Imprison
Aura
Aura
Imprison/Tundra
Aura
Ulti
Imprison
then Ulti>Imprison>Tundra for the priority. For items, I normally start with;
Courier/Wards, 2 Health Pots, and a 2 Minor Totems. Courier/Wards is obvious, I get two health pots for regen, one for me, and one for my lane partner, and two minor totems just for extra stats.
Early game, I normally don't pick my spell until laning starts or a rune gank occurs. I always get Tundra if no rune gank occurs, unless my partner is someone who would benefit from a freeze more. I get freeze if there is a rune gank, unless I really needed the Tundra to catch up to someone. My first 200g is almost always to a winged courier, unless someone else picks it up, then I invest in wards with it, then I grab a homecoming stone from the sideshop to possibly countergank or run away, just in case. From there, I get what I need, more wards, boots, bracers, steamboots, more homecoming stones, a mystic vestments if the time calls for it. Sometimes I buy extra health pots to keep a push up or help a teammate in need (I do this once in the replay, for Wretched).
Mid game, I just wander around with my team, slowing, freezing and ganking whatever calls for it. If we have someone who occasionally jungles, I stack when I run through the forest. I keep up homecoming stones and wards, and try to help the team in fights.
Late game, I feel like I am a walking ward, with a minor long range slow and a freeze. My ulti doesn't do much damage, I normally don't have much farm for anything past steamboots and bracers, and sometimes a power supply. I try to keep up wards if we need them, I scout around for signs of enemies and just try to keep my teammates up. I normally die pretty quickly, or even first in team fights.
I'd like some kind of advice for being a Glacius player, or just being a support player in the higher brackets, and maybe even some discussion for these ideas and builds.

If you are in a kill lane: Trilane, Glacius Soulstealer, Glacius TDL, etc. then you should go
Tundra
Imprisonment
Aura
Aura
Aura
Ult/Imprisonment
Aura
Imprisonment - max
Aura & Imprisonment are vital IMO.
Maybe 1 level of tundra in the beginning just for the slow.
I'd get some striders, three bracers, a pk, and wards. That's all you really need. I say get pk because you're pretty good a chasing with your tundra and imprisonment. Just as long as you don't pk into a bunch of enemy heroes, you'd be fine.
Never rush into any battle head on, always be a little bit behind since you're so god damn squishy. Imprison the spellcaster/intiator and when it seems like nobody is concentrating on you, activate your ult. Plant wards on command and make sure to listen to your team if they want a particular ward spot.
I'd go striders to setup some ganks while roaming. Then just get a few bracers and mystic vestments if you get enough gold. I must say, you sound like a decent support player! Do you play andromeda well? (favourite hero).
Tundra lv1 always.
Max Aura by lv7
Get ult when applicable
Buy courier / wards / counter-wards
Striders
Power Supply
Stack jungle whenever things aren't happening.
I'd sing you a song, but
I'm just a little hoarse.
Get some striders a power supply and a bracer or two. If you are actually getting some income you might want some HP, Shrunken or a Pkey.

tundra
prision
aura
aura
aura
ult
aura
max prision
max tundra
this is ALWAYS the right build
whats wrong with maxing imprisonment first, so you can ensure the carry you're babysitting some early kills?
i always go
slow
imprisonment
imprisonment
aura
imprisonment
ulti
imprisonment
aura max
stats/slow
i mean when they need mana so desperately they should buy friggin pots, they are not that expensive
sounds selfish but i think some early kills and security for your carry by harrasing the opponent contributes more to the team than 1.5 mana reg imo
I'm not sure why everyone is so sure that Tundra first is always the best option. In my experience, Imprisonment provides much more harassment potential. Usually, you will be able to get 2-3 free physical attacks off when they are imprisoned, while Tundra does not usually allow this kind of harassment. It also capitalizes more on an enemy's mistake, such as when they overextend themselves. Of course, Tundra is a very viable first skill, and helps much more in terms of getting a kill, but it's really best to wait for when you actually need your first skill.
Also, there is the rare case of having to get aura before you get your second spell. Sometimes, you will need to level your aura once before you level your second active spell simply because you are using all of your mana. Don't just blindly level your skills to the "pro" build. Go with what is needed at the moment.
well tundra works well if u have swift in a lane with u but at the same time if u are working wit a swift u get imprisonment and tundra u freeze 1 guy tundra the other let swift chase the none frozen while u auto attack the frozen guy u should rape ur lane fairly easy
I personally don't like ult at 6. It's a little too situational and with how squishy Glacius is even if the scenario arises that you could use it you'll most likely still end up dieing.
tundra blast
imprisonment
aura
aura
aura
imprisonment
aura
striders
power supply
bracer
tablet
wards
Mostly i dont spec my ult before lvl10+11. A second lvl of impisonment on lvl6 is so much more useful, sincei tend to lack the mana for my ult anyways. Plus standing so close to an enemy is a bad idea in most cases. And lvl1-Ult doesn't do any real damage.
Most of the things stated in the first post are very good though, it seems like you got the right mindsetPlaying supp in low skill games sucks though...
You should be buying nothing but counter/normal wards unless you're playing noob games without wards in other team. once you get striders, power supply/tp and maybe a bracer/void talisman as glacius.
allways go slow first,at lvl 2 it really depends what kind of lane you're playing as,if you're playing a kill lane go imprisonment and max aura at 3-4-5-7
Something especialy Glacius players often ignore is that they are playing a support-only hero.
In pubs, you often see Glacius going for porkal key and/or even shrunken head though he doesn't really cause a lot of damage even with that farm and is still very squishy.
Leave the farm to the carries or pretty much anyone else since there is no hero requiring less farm than Glacius. Go for supportive items such as Nomes Wisdom or if you have people on your team who would profit from it, Abyssal Skull. If you manage to survive and pile up some gold, go for a Barrier Idol (unless your enemies don't have any magic damage of course). Nearing mid to late-mid, the enemy carries will be able to cakewalk over you without farm, get a Void Stone to prevent that from happening.
A Void Stone allows you to AT LEAST make your enemies waste nukes on you which can'T be set on your actuall carries anymore if they do.

Tundra Blast @ level 1, Ice Imprisonment @ level 2 always.
Tundra>Imprisonment at level 1 usually because it has more than 2x the effective range and it actually provides more potential from autoattack damage than imprisonment...oh and it's AoE.
