Kolapz, you have a pretty big mistake there. In the EE qualifier finals KD > Empr (2-1).

Loaded are making some serious dough from these tournaments. Almost $5000 from HoN. Wow. That's 1k per player.

KDe made more of the Dreamhack event only. MSI also made almost $1000 each just off their second place at Dreamhack.

Thanks, fixed. Not really my mistake though as I just copied what RavenWolf mailed to me.

LOADed #1 top clan in the world who spends hours and hours practicing and is leagues ahead of so many others.... gets minimum wage, if that.

Which I suppose isn't that bad, but it's far from "serious dough."

For a computer game, I would say 1k per 2 months is a very good wage.

I'm sure most of them play at least 3 hours a day. maybe some days they don't. Bkid, 27 games played in August, now that's not a lot, somewhere likely between 30-60 minutes each, on a rough estimate, puts him at 20.25 hours for the month of August, for the sake of argument, just double that for the previous month and you get 40.25 hours. 1000/40.25 = $24.85 p/h

Now this math is highly flawed because its just one person, you can't take into account time spent on smurfs, time spent waiting in between matches, time spent just talking to teammates and not playing. I would personally assume, that he has a rather low amount of games played for a professional, I would normally say the average player has about 2 or 3 games per day.

60, 30-60, 45 hours, doubled, 90 hours. 1000/90 = $11.10 p/h Now for a college student, or someone in high school, 11 bucks an hour is not bad for not having to drive anywhere or deal with angry people (sort've)

He played 167 games on one of his smurfs (GeneralD) in August.

As I already said, I took the Honcast Invitational as a starting point for this list.

If someone wants me to include a tournament that happened before that, compile a list of ALL tournaments that ever happened, including the first 3 placed teams and the prize distribution with a proof (bracket, news post, whatever) and PM me with it. I'll be more than glad to include it into the OP.

but he only gains money from the tournament finals match. so since it lasts at most 1 hour and he makes $500 from it, he gets $500 an hour.

    right? srs competitive cash

Yes, but those games they play are mostly practice in order to stay sharp, scrims to improve strats and to try things out.

If your job only paid you for the time you worked and not the time you sit around and do nothing (everyone does a bit of this at the least, myself, I troll the HoN forums) then I could calculate myself to making a 8 hours day pay into an hour.

Also all the qualifiers and what not all contribute

It's about the time spent playing the game to get better and stay at that level

Thread stickied, and I pimped out the formatting a little... :P

Looks good so far though, but I suggest adding tournament links (as kustodian already mentioned), and adding start/finish dates for quick reference on each tournament. It would also be interesting to list the total team entries, but I suppose that information would, or should, be covered in the official tournament link. You could also even add a chart for most earnings, but with teams changing rosters so often I don't know how well that would work out.

Edit: I suppose I could do this, since apparently you don't want to.
