I've spent the last couple weeks developing a possible fix to these crashes called "Hero Resource Unloading". I'd like to get feedback on whether or not it works, or causes any additional problems.
Step 1) Shutdown HoN
Step 2) Install this: http://www.mediafire.com/?bvgxphdpgdpaduw
Hotfix:
To UNDO the hotfix and go back to what you currently have, install this:
Step 2a) if the installer has problems locating your HoN folder, move the in staller into your HoN folder and try again.
Step 3) IF YOU CRASH, SAVE THE DUMP and reply to this thread saying you crashed!
If you notice any new problems (for example, icons showing up as a black and white 'checkerboard'), report it here.
To undo the hotfix (to go back to what you have right now), install this: http://www.mediafire.com/?k4xe2hga8zgan8n

About to try this, but might I suggest stickying the thread? I realize you will be flooded regardless but people seem to pay more attention to stickied threads. The hotfix install itself worked just fine (or so it claims, and HoN is running okay so i'm inclined to believe it).
After I finish with this game I'll check it out, there is a pause btw, don't worry

shawn i got could not install patch unexpected hon version expected 1.010.0 my version 0.2.83.0 howtofix seems something up with my test client?

0.2.83.0 - that's the test client. You have to use the normal one.
