Based on "why did the neighbour's kid got a pony for Christmas when all I got was this lousy sweater", we want an epic HoN CG cinematic to fight back.
Old as hell, nobody cares. It doesn't show gameplay, it doesn't represent the actual game.
After such an vid it's probably a huge disappointment to play LoL
True the trailer has nothing to do with the game what so ever and that's why i think it sucks, they should play that cinematic trailer along with some gameplay as well.
Star Wars.
Reading the comments in that trailer just made me lose hope for humanity.
This one in particular:
Really the website told me a great story...would like to see this as a movie. Peter Jackson, I hope you are getting inspiration watching this.
..The only thing remotely epic about that trailer was the music.
The atmosphere would have been nice and all...until the terribly out of place hero designs completely pulled you out of the experience. For instance, throughout the entire cinematic you don't know what the **** is going on. Is this a mythological game? A fighter?
Compare it to HoN for example. Throughout all of HoN's trailer their general mood and ambience are portrayed extremely well, that being completely badass. All I got out of this trailer is that the game has big fluffy colorful characters with ***** attacks.
Quite possibly one of the worst trailers I have ever seen in my life.

I like to troll.
And make uh duh funny on mic
I watched both trailers.
HoN's trailer is like watching a bunch of replays mixed up in 1 video and probably took around 30 mins to make. If you want to see gameplay you can browse through the 100.000 HoN videos on youtube. The trailer should be unique. So HoN fails at this.
LoL's trailer is epic and actually makes you want to try out the game to see if it's worth playing = success. I'm sure they gained a lot of new players just with this trailer, such as myself. Obviously a great way to get more players.
You think that's one of the worst trailers you've ever seen in your life ? Oh please...
Also, HoN trailer = 550.000 views in 11 months. LoL trailer = 2.170.000 in 3 weeks. What does that tell you ?
While I will admit that the trailer is very well put together and was interesting to watch, the only people it will bring in are people who have the "OH SHINY ME WANT" mentality.
While I will admit I am a little disappointed with the HoN trailer it is at least honest and shows the viewer exactly what they are getting.
In terms of recruiting a bunch of foolish people interested in looks over game play LoL has the winning trailer. But in terms of actually giving someone an idea of what they are getting into HoN wins by far.
The LoL trailer will make people try out the game, because the trailer looks epic and obviously they want to see if the game is as awesome as the trailer. Some people will play the game, some won't.
HoN trailer is terrible. It doesn't make you want to play the game unless you're are a dota player and notice familiar heroes and the minimap and ****. New players won't be interested, and shouldn't be because of it's community. Also, LoL trailer doesn't put false information in it's trailer. In HoN's trailer it says frequent updates, multiple maps and World Editor. World Editor isn't even here, the other maps are never updated or played and updates are hardly frequent when you get about 1 patch every 5-8 weeks with not that many game updates.
LoL = looks over gameplay ? Please. HoN gives a lot of players FPS issues because of it's graphics and developers focus way too much on making everything look so awesome and super detailed which greatly decreases performance of the game.
LoL has graphics that make the game "fun" instead of "serious and great looking and realistic", and the animations are smoother and better than HoN in my opinion. LoL runs much better on older computers because Riot games knows what people want, better performance and gameplay instead of super shiny graphics that lag you to death and nothing you can do about it. The graphic settings don't even help much, thanks to bad programming.
Have you never seen a cinematic trailer? Cinematic trailers are not suppose to show off gameplay, they are just supposed to be cool. Hon's trailer is not a cinematic trailer. This video actually shows off more gameplay elements than most cinematic trailers I have seen.
The trailer itself was alright, but I didn't think it was that great. Complete lack of voice acting was the main disappointment for me, then again I've been spoiled by blizzard cinematics.

2 million+ views damn. I'm gonna try me some LoL now. See you HoN when you get some moar ports.
Good matchmaking, nice trailer, good servers, stable client. Everything about LoL is really good.
Except the game
I have returned![]()
i prefer ingame, you're not disappointed when you actually see the gameplay. LoL graphics is a prime example.
"When I see your face, I wanna be in the human race. You're beautiful it's true, I want to be beautiful like you."
If only CG = Actual gameplay, there would be a menagerie of good video games out. Sadly making a shiny CG video does not make a game good. After playing LoL a bit, other than the Horrible graphics, no denying, and no balance.. its not a HORRIBLE game...
Was that Dark Seer? The bald one who was juking left and right?
If anything That made me want to play DoTa more...
