After some weeks of work and feedback gathering, finally I am able to release the second version of my personal hud design for heroes of newerth.
This hud was created to achieve the best usability possible while mantaining an attractive outlook. Battles will be smoother and mistakes will be reduced thanks to it, and all that while reducing the ammount of blocks in your screen, giving you a good visibility.
This interface isn't exactly easy to install, it will require some steps that I will try to explain as clerly as possible, use this thread for any question left after reading this post.
Users screenshots (Post if you want yours included here)
In order for this hud to work you need the following addons:
MiniUI by FearParanoia Provides all the elements, like HP bars, leveling up skills system, etc.
Diablo UI by Tehwildcard Provides .tga images with new movable frames and a different way of showing your HP and MP
Bang MIA by Bangerz System to report from missing lanes
Bang Panel beater by Bangerz Removes parts of the original interface, like the gears, the menu button (it's F10/F6, once you know that, you don't need the button)
Movable frames by AsiaPingPong Allows you to move the different frames around
Torchlight frame by nyX (only the torchlight.honmod) Separates the skills in different units, so you get skill 1, 2, 3 and 4 in movable frames, which allows you a better customization (wish there was something like this for items )
Once you have downloaded the package and have all previously listed addons set up, unzip the F hud .rar, doesn't matter where.
Copy the Diablo UI folder and go to heroes of newerth/game folder and paste it there, replacing the original Diablo UI folder.
Once you have done that, go back to heroes of newerth/game and open textures.s2z with winrar, paste there the 00000000 folder you can find inside the F hud package replacing 6 files, this should change your fortification icon for mine.
Now you're closer to having it set up, but there's an issue here: Different resolutions require different placements, so, for now, your only chance is to copy one of these startup.cfg files, or to move the layers by yourself.
To change a startup.cfg file with the information provided below you will have to open your startup.cfg, which is found in c/Users/yourname/My documents/Heroes of Newerth/game/
Open the cfg file with a text editor, dreamweaver is a good one, but if you don't have it, you can do it with notepad too. Find the code that belongs to each addon, for example, SetSave "miniui, and you will be able to replace that code with the one provided below.
If you copy it properly, the only thing you will have to move ingame is the courier button position, I recommend using the top right for that, but up to you.
I will provide more resolutions with time, for now, these are the ones available:
1920*1200 - 4.6% of computers use this resolution
1920*1080 - 2.3% of computers use this resolution, but it got requested by multiple users.
1680*1050 - 10% of computers use this resolution
If your resolution doesn't have over 3% of computers using it, your best chance is for many of you to request them, otherwise you will have to pick one of those and move things around until they are set.
Going to post more resolutions today, just wanted to finish the post quickly.
Some addons might not look good with this new setup, or might require you to move some things around in order for them not to cover some important information from miniui, for example, respawn timers. If you really want to use that addon, you can move the miniui score to the bottom of the clock.
The fortification icon doesn't show up when you select a NPC/PC, there's apparently no way to fix that for pingpongasia, so there's little I can do.
Diablo UI currently doesn't work for many people, I released a small hotfix that makes it work. Download it here.
There are people reporting that the skills won't show up. I am using MiniUI v1.3, and I uploaded it here. If I recall correctly, it's a modification of the original MiniUI.
The newest version of Bang MIA won't show up as the older does, I'm using an older version, bang MIA 1.8 at my own risk, I've been asked not to upload older versions so please don't ask. I'm trying to find out a better solution as I write this so check for updates.
Credits to Tehwildcard for his wonderful diablo UI addon, due to my limited knowledge when it comes to create addons, this UI wouldn't have been possible without it.
Thanks to Jedah from LNTC for giving this addon some advertisement through his stream too he kinda pushed me a bit in order to release it sooner, so thank him :P
HOTFIX AUG 24
v 2.0.1: Modified the healthplate bars to advoid the problem with not being able to click around them. Fix it as soon as possible by downloading it again(4.1MB this time), if you already had F hud installed, just replace the healthbars folder in game/diabloUI by the new one and change the position of the healthbar in your startup.cfg
SetSave "movf_diablo_healthball_h" "256.0000"
SetSave "movf_diablo_healthball_v" "1"
SetSave "movf_diablo_healthball_w" "512.0000"
SetSave "movf_diablo_healthball_x" "690.0000"
SetSave "movf_diablo_healthball_y" "1067.0000"
That's a pretty neat setup. Thanks for sharing
True Skill Rating mod - a numerically simple but elaborate rating system used to judge the skill of players.
Wow that looks awesome Thanks very much for sharing

got a problem: when u dont have a widescreen-resolution the middle frame cant be streched as far as it should so it looks kinda compressed, especially the icons that should be under the inventory.

no pics allowed? text will do just fine. gj on wasting more time on useless bullshit, don't bother fixing your game...
try to turn off "constrain on screen" and resize to max by moving part of it off screen then resize it. then manually centering it (using UI grid)
Would be nice also if you post your results placing the frames so I know where I could offer more visual help with screenshots.
And zunaguli, tell me your resolution and I will cut the image for you if what jullsandwich suggested doesn't work, it's not really ready for non widescreen resolutions, but I might come with a different setup of the frames like buffs/targets for 4:3.
Fleiva, e intentado colar los marcos en su sitio pero no hay manera de encajar todo. No hay alguna manera de pasar el movable frames o algo?
That's if i remember right maybe some1 remember better than me
