Really depends on what allied hero you have at mid, if it's any hero with a slow / stun then you'll be fine to run in with Infernal Instability first. If your allied hero has no stun / slow () you'll probably have trouble getting the kill if you don't have a Haste / Invis, but landing a Grapple could make it possible to finish off the enemy if they've already been harassed down by a bit already.

Great guide. I play Gauntlet a lot, and this infomation is quite helpful
Take a look at my hero suggestions:
The_Chaplain [From Savage 2, includes Ressurection!]
    The_Savage [From Savage 2, features the Charge-O-Meter!]

i build a similar gauntlet, but i think you should add mock to luxury items. i prefer it lategame, as it adds great pressure while enfeebling an enemy hero.
    dream heroes:
    The Trapper
    The Barbarian
Do you like heroes that reward high skill?
Do you like speed and innovation?
    Check this.

I haven't played much gauntlet since the nerf, then again i haven't been playing hon that much lately.

Anyway this is a very informative guide. Good work.
The item build, skill build and ability use is basically what i already did, it's good to see i wasn't playing him wrong.

Last hits with gaunt is one of his weaknesses imo, infernal instability can be used to clear a creep wave but his mana pool is quite low. I tended to not get many ck's with gaunt. That's probably due to the roaming/ganking playstyle of the hero

What u need to add to this guide now is Counters. What heroes counter gaunt and when to pick him and when not to.
I tend to pick Gaunt when the enemy team has at least 3 squishy heroes or ss. IIRC his ult is superior magic so it helps alot at stopping shrunken head

Grapple and Gauntlet Blast are both physical target type, meaning they will get stunned regardless of immunity. However the damage is magical so they won't take damage, so targeting an immune SS would be a waste (better to simply target something behind him). :LoggersHatchet:

I saw someone doing long range grapples once and I honestly thought it was some kind of bug. I had no idea you could click past the target of grapple and travel long distances. I can see all sorts of crazy possibilities now.

    Nice guide.

Are the new Striders and the new Blood Chalice a viable option on Gauntlet? Personally, I would say yes on Striders and no on Blood Chalice but just wanted some different opinions.

You won't be able to keep up a chase with Stiders, 50ms and a 20% constant snare won't let you keep up with enemies equipped with Phase Boots. I could see the merit of getting them if you feel like rushing Portal Key. Blood Chalice isn't really worth it when you could just get a Bottle for the same price which gives health instead of costing it. It's better on heroes like Tundra who can abuse Steamboots and have only 1 cheap spell.

Pretty good Gauntlet guide. I read it after about 15 or 20 games as gauntlet and found that we agree on most things, although I build steamboots for survivability instead of ghost marchers.

I'll submit to you a replay showing how well Gauntlet can support his team. I go from supporting and getting our carry NH kills early game in a NH/Gauntlet vs SR/Glad lane to wrecking team ganks mid-game to initiating teamfights late-game. We still lost but good all-around Gauntlet play makes it worth posting. I even show off several "short" grapples early game into my tower.

    NomesWisdom - yes
    NotDan - no

I would like to ask a question about how Gauntlet's Grapple radius works, though. As of right now, is the impact point of the glove a circle? That's what I think is implied by impact radius. Personally, I think it'd make more sense if it was a rectangle, since that is what the shape of the Grapple actually is. I've done numerous hooks where it looks like the projectile connected but nothing happens.

It is a circle with adjusttouchradius="true", which means it has the precision aspect of Valkyrie's arrow & not the old truck-sized one.

Once again, post this in Balance .

Oh and Dev's hook actually has the same touch radius as Gauntlet's Grapple (75) with the same adjusttouchradius="true"
