That's the error message I got after trying to join a game. I would log out and log back in same message. I'm currently downloading the latest client to reinstall. I'm pretty sure I didn't modify this file. I have never used mods or tried to use any type of "cheat". I was playing 1.0.6.1 earlier today just fine.
You were probably trying to join a tournament rules game and S2 probably messed up some check.

I'm pretty sure they were standard game settings, I don't remember. The only thing I did different before that game was I used the Report a Player feature for the first time.
Other people are getting the error. Probably a problem when updating that corrupted the file.
i'm having this error too and i've reinstalled like 4 times now... I hope they come up with a solution soon, I sat around in tech support irc but nadda
Got a no response from server, then i got the "Your resources0.s2z file has been modified. This file must NOT be changed! Re-install Heroes of Newerth" error when trying to connect. Didn't use any mods or 'cheats' as well.

Reinstalled again with the latest installer after removing everything. Even tried an older version installer off torrent on the forums and updated. Still same problem.
I have same error after joining a game
S2 Please help fix this. I am having this too.
I picked my hero and game loaded, then right when it starts i get dced and get the error that is posted.
everytime i try to reconnect same error.

Happened to me again, I reinstalled after the first error and now I get it again tonight!
I was in a pick 3 game, right click on my hero, but never actually select him. As soon as the game starts up it crashes and I can not get back into the game!
Getting the same error, downloading client for reinstall.

i've just been playing 1.0.6.0 until the other update seems to work all the time. It seems as if it's ok atm at that version.
I've been getting this error right after joining a game lobby ever since the patch, I'm reinstalling now. Please help.
already reinstaled from the latest version about 10 times and still got the same errors, someone help me fix it please!

I uninstalled the game then reinstalled with the latest client, then updated again. Haven't got the error since.
