Show which Allied Hero teleports at destination!

So, whenever one of your allies use Teleport Scroll, and you are close to their teleporting destination, why is it that you have to wait until they arrive to see which hero it is?



Sure, if used voice chat or text message they can tell you, but if 2 heroes teleport to the same tower and one of them slightly before the other one, how do you know? You could hover over and look, but in the middle of a battle you cannot do that!

I believe DotA implemented so that whenever an ally teleports, the teleporting visual is the same color as the hero currently teleporting.
Why was this not implemented in HoN?



That is a pretty bad example, but yeah, the player color as the teleporting visual. That would be a good way to show which hero teleports, in case you know which hero are which color.

I believe though that there is a better way of showing which ally is teleporting:



I apologize for my sloppy Photoshop illustration, but I think you get the picture.

The idea is to have a frozen, non-animated, half transparent "hologram" picture of them being shown while they are channeling their TP scroll so that you know which ally is teleporting!

The reason the holograms are greyscaled and half transparent is because you should simply not be able to confuse the hologram picture of the hero with the original. It doesn't have to be greyscaled, they could be in color too. The point is to show which hero it is without being able to confuse it with the original.

Also, the reason I personally think having shown "holograms" of the heroes would be better than having colored teleport beams is because:
Maybe you haven't fully memorized which hero is which color 10 minutes in the game. 20 minutes in you would probably know. You may know which heroes are on your team,
but each corresponding color?
"Look, a yellow teleporting ray, it's Tempest teleporting!"
*ZING!*
"Oh sorry, it was actually Pharaoh. Tempest is orange and Pharaoh is yellow."
Being an example.

Knowing what hero is teleporting can be crucial since it would be easier to synchronize spells between allies upon arrival.

Imagine this scenario:
Your Behemoth on your team tells you over voice chat or text that he is teleing mid, at the same time 3 enemy heroes are pushing mid, and you alone are currently defending mid tower. You see the teleport visual come up, and you know Behemoth will stun as soon as he arrives.
You jump in to the battle but no Behemoth appears, instead it is Armadon that pops up, you simply die without any stun support. One second later, Behemoth comes with the teleport. Rage ensues.

If you would see that the teleporting hero simply wasn't Behemoth, it wouldn't have happened. You would have wait until Behemoth teleported, and then you could attack, with Armadon as well. This is only an example.

i would go with tinting the ray you see at the portal location to the team mates colour instead of the see through model.

yay for the color, nay for the see through model, if ur in ur way of a teamfight and ur eg, tempest and wait for a magmus to tp in, u might by mistake just dagger in and ulti because u saw magmus model at tower and thought he was rdy.

Why would you think he is already there when the teleport "beam" is still there? There's like a long ray of light there.
Maybe I have to alter the example a little so that it doesn't look like the original hero model, but still so that you can see which hero it is. I'll probably make it grayscaled.

Yeye i know, but when heros just tped in the beam is still there and for people who want to go in fast, they just go as soon as they see the model, even before they think about it xD

Yeah I suppose there would be room for confusion.

I added a greyscale example now. The reason I support the version where a model is shown is because maybe you don't always memorize which hero is what color, especially early game. You may know what heroes are in your team, but maybe you need some minutes in the game to know which color are which hero.
And since the colors of your team aren't shown in the upper left corner (which I actually have a suggestion for xD), you HAVE to scroll to the teleporting hero to look who it is if you don't know the color.

What do you guys think of having one example which shows both models and color of the teleporting ray? Is it overkill?

Also, I'd appreciate if people would state why they choose what they choose. AreZee gave his reason that he is partial colorblind.
Those who did not like the one where you can see the hero model teleporting, is that because you would mix that one up with the original? Or why is that?
