We need to have the lane-options as DotA did. No hassle, little effort, big help to many players. Meaning, choosing which lanes to play. Some lanes will spawn creeps while the other not-chosen ones would be "shut-down" and unplayable the whole game. Towers etc. will still attack, but no creeps and unused lanes' buildings' would be invulnerable.
This would only be in public game creation.
The lane options would be in the game creation box as a section with tick boxes, with the options being "All lanes, top lane, bottom lane, middle lane" where if:
A) You choose all-lanes, the other tick boxes are grayed out.
B) You choose something other than all-lanes, and proceed to tick the check boxes for the lanes you want to play.

Hello. I've been a diehard DotA fan/player for a long long time...back when you could buy Aegis of Reincarnation from the shops.
And that was a long time ago. Here's the thing. Me and a lot of my DotA/HoN friends like to play LANE-maps.
Not the "Darkwood Vale 3v3" thing, but the regular map (Caldavar) except only playing in certain lanes.
DotA had this option a WHILE back.
Only top - ot / No top - nt
Only mid - om / No mid - nm
Only bot - ob / No bot - nb
Now here's the thing. I know for a fact that this shouldn't really be too much of a hassle to integrate. After all, all you do is command the game to either ONLY spawn creeps from CERTAIN BARRACKS- and not make other barracks spawn creeps. In DotA, only being able to play certain lanes made the barracks spawn only in the "chosen" lanes, with any unused-lane-buildings being invulnerable.
For example, "om" (only mid), would have the middle towers and the middle barracks and the middle huts destructible. The other lanes' buildings and towers would be invulnerable.
It's really annoying when I make a game name with "ONLY MID" in the title only to have people just solo top and bottom.
Also, 2v2's are fun to play with a friend. Most often on Caldavar, 2v2's are "lane-designated" to have people only play certain lanes.
You may ask, "Why have controlled lanes in 2v2 when there's that Darkwood map?"
Well here's the thing. NOT EVERYONE LOVES DARKWOOD. I for one, despise it. I love the traditional DotA map...the three lanes and the shops etc.
Please consider this idea. It's not as hard as creating a whole new mode altogether; its just changing spawns lanes and making some towers/buildings invincible.
Also, in a lane-designated game, the unused lanes will not give either team gold at random, sporadic moments. (e.g. at 23:10 in a bot+top lane only game, you get 200 gold from your team's creeps pushing mid. You got free gold for no work, and possibly have acquired the "free-mid-gold" before the other team [=IMBALANCE] )
In addition, because the unused lanes would not be vulnerable to attack, teams that play only certain lanes do not have to focus on the random strong pushes that the opposing creeps do.
A 2v2, mid-only...but with all three lanes running. At 45:30 of the game, top lane is being pushed hard by the opposing creeps. But your team is winning and destroying mid barracks etc...but now you have to worry about the fact that the players who you are ONLY MIDDING against will push back top and bottom to an insane extent to take advantage of your "mid-only" mindset, despite you hosting a game with a title saying "MID ONLY" ...meaning you have to worry about something that you tried to avoid by making the game "top/mid/bot" specific.
The Tutorial for HoN is MID ONLY!!!!
If the Tutorial is mid only, how hard was it to code?!?! Certainly it can't be impossibly difficult to toggle invulnerability to buildings by setting armor values to 0 or infinity or the like.

Should be an option. If there can be all agil mode, why not lane designation...
New players need an intermediate between 'first time' and 'hardcore'. That intermediate does not yet exist. Simple mode is that intermediate.
