"Correct me if I'm wrong" applies to this whole post.
The maximum movespeed in DotA was 522 because that's a limitation of the Warcraft 3 engine, so why in the name of christ would we continue to use that same ridiculous cap if one of things constantly boasted about this game is that it goes beyond the limitations of the Warcraft 3 engine. I'm not saying that 522 isn't fast enough, because it is, it just seems like such an obscure number to have kept through. What's wrong with rounding it off to 525 or something?
Has been discussed alot, and yes, agree 100%. It is really random.
I feel there has to be a limit and since 522 is what all of us are used to from DotA why not just stick with it?
I dont want Pestilence flying around the map with Flight/Haste so fast that its just a friggen joke.
Current Suggestions:
[Item] Smoke Screen *Now Playable in Practice Mode*
[Remake] Harkon's Blade *Now Playable in Practice Mode*
[Remake] Ghost Marchers, Steamboots, and Plated Greaves
I believe it should be uncapped and all movement modifiers adjusted. Instead of lycan getting maximum move speed it could just be capped at the bonus he currently gets ( 522 )
However the current cap of 522 is rarely reached and only affects certain situations such as haste .
I like the idea of being able to go faster...
Getting port boots on war beast would be a good thing now >.>
I really don't see a problem with it, as long as you scale everything accurately

522 is one of the few good limitations of the wc3 engine, and one that blizzard put there on purpose.
while 522 might be arbitrary, it maintains a nice balance, as dota/hon is balanced around it being 522. changing it more then a little bit would unbalance dota/hon drastiaclly
I'm not "whining", I'm just saying that since one of the things that everyone boasts about this game is that there are less limitations why would the game have one of the limitations put into it when it could be easily reworked to not be such a weird, obscure number?
It's not a big deal, I do agree that there needs to be a max and that the current max is what the game is balanced around, but it seems like this is a mechanic that could have been changed to really show that there are less limitations. A new player in DotA might ask "Why is the max movespeed 522?" and you would say that Warcraft only lets you go that fast. Now when someone asks "Why is the max movespeed 522?" you have to say that thats what it was like in DotA and they decided to keep it.
I don't know, it just seems like an odd number to keep kicking around.

522 was and is the max speed in Savage 2, the prior game from S2games, which is made on the same engine as HoN.

522 was by no means a limit of the warcraft 3 engine. It's a balance issue.
