EDIT: For all of you simpletons, view this as an archer or javilneer. The only thing you guys have said thus far is that the lore doesn't fit. Try posting about the skills instead...
Lore: Counter-Strike
I'm not including numbers because I'd rather have discussion over concept instead of numbers. Even when asked not to consider numbers, but all the feedback is always "OMGEEZ DAT SPEL DUS TEW MUTCH DAMAGE!!1"...
Melee (knife), agility
Ability 1: Equip Weapon, Costs gold and mana.
A menu pops up giving the CT a selection of weapons. Upon selecting the weapon, the CT enters first person view and can unload up to one clip before losing the weapon. Each weapon has different range, rate of fire, and damage per shot. Headshots deal more damage. Each level opens up more weapons, but weapons from previous levels may also be selected.
Level 1: USP
Level 2: TMP
Level 3: Desert Eagle
Level 4: M4A1, Famas; If the CT has a positive K : D ratio, he can purchase the Auto Sniper(<-- Imba!).
After the clip is expended, the CT sells the weapon for an extra 10/20/30/40 gold. Yea, I said I wouldn't include numbers, but I guess I had to in that case.
Ability 2: Fire in the hole!
Gives the CT three abilities much like Souleater's raze. Grenade throwing speed starts out relatively slow and increases with each level. All effects obviously take place once the grenade reaches destination. The grenade may sometimes bounce.
Flashbang: Throws a grenade to a target location. Anyone who has the grenade anywhere on their screen gets blinded (screen turns white) for a few seconds. At level 4 it no longer affects allies.
Smoke Grenade: Throws a grenade to a target location. Any allies within the AoE gain evasion (and possibly spell armor)
Fragmentation Grenade: Deals a large amount of AoE damage in an area.
Ability 3: Equip Riot Shield, Permanent/passive (Probably a filler)
Adds armor and reduces all incoming frontal damage.
Ultimate: Hostage Defense Allied/self
Throws a hostage to the target. The hostage is used as a meat shield preventing a high amount of incoming damage for a brief amount of time. If the hostage is killed, the killing play loses gold.

youre whole thread isnt constructive. You just make people stop looking in the suggestion forum, and because of that people with serious suggestions wont get feedback.
but yeah im grumpy everytime i see the suggestion Forum.
no there is no space for stupid heroes based on counter strike. There are other people who actualy care about waht theyre posting, and im telling you making a heroe suggestion WITH numbers takes damn long, at least if you dont want it to be imbalanced.
There is too space for heroes based on counter strike. I care about what I'm posting. I also care enough about what I'm posting to spell my words decently. A post with numbers doesn't take very long. I could slap some in right now, but concept discussion is better than numbers discussion. When numbers are set on the table, people are likely to say "that number is too high/low", then when all the numbers are fine "that skill doesn't fit". What a waste of time, I'd rather get "that skill doesn't fit" before "that number isn't right". You said you took a lot of time putting numbers in your warlock post, but I can point out a useless skill in it. Wouldn't it be a lot nicer if you knew that skill didn't fit BEFORE going through the grueling balance process?
Why does the basis of the idea matter? Perhaps I'll change him into a javelineer who can purchase different kinds of spears and he throws bags of gas that do different things? Yes, post your honest opinion.Originally Posted by Netukka

Basicaly i made the Summoner Thread not the Warlock. And yes it was neccasary putting numbers in. why? because people are more likley comment at suggestions with numbers and structure.
I have to say it again: NO space for Counterstrike in here. This game is based on Savage fluff, stick with it!
Besides youre skills dont realy synergize with each other even if you turn him into a fluff based character you need to give some possibilities . when i first read youre suggestion i wont think about the synergies first (because its not my suggestion and i never saw it in the game so its harder to come up with anything) .
Try making it fitting the game, than i will give you feedback so you can improve youre suggestion. Thats how it works.
Why does it matter? It doesn't fit the game world. It doesn't fit the lore. It doesn't fit anything. If you want to make a serious hero suggestion, make one that's tailored to the world of Newerth. Meta-references (IE: References that break the fourth wall) are fine, but the entire thing should still exist within the confines of the game and the world it's designed around.
Frozen ... That hero wouldn't fit the universe.
If you want to make a fun to play hero, then come back with something that actually would exist in that world. Even if it is fantasy, it has certain rules.
I could just slap a Star Trek hero type suggestion or a Star Wars one.
Wait..A jedi would actually work. Ffs.
P.S. : No, a jedi won't work, but a hero that has some kind of energy weapon would be extremely sweat.
Fine, if it helps you, view it as an archer who can get different bows. Fire 3 special arrows, and then have some misc skill in the near future.
Frozen: it has nothing to do if its BOWS or GUNS it can still have GUNS there were tons of Guns in Savage (and i miss them in HoN) but it should have something to do with the gameworld.
Check the Savage site and you will see.
Okay then, you want comments on the skills. You asked for it, here we go...
Skill #1: Absolute retardation. Putting aside all thing about gold costs and whatever, 1st person mode? Why would a RTS based game EVER have a 1st person view even coded in to the engine and even more, why would it fit in? Headshots for more damage? Since when did the game have hitboxes or even collision detection for aiming projectiles based on 1st person aiming?
Skill #2:
Flashbang: Most annoying skill EVER.
Smoke: We already have Night Hound smoke bomb. Sorry.
Frag: Bland, anyone? And also, AoE ranged nuke on agi melee hero? Fitting?
Skill #3: You said it yourself, just a filler. Nothing else. Kazing.
Skill #4: Accursed shield but instead of getting damage, the enemy loses gold? Right...
Now then, was that constructive enough?
I see, I'll rework this then.
Savages first game incorporated this. I don't see why it would be bad, it adds a new dynamic. Could just take out the headshots and then you'd be fine without hitboxes. http://www.s2games.com/savage/index....ge=savageindexSkill #1: Absolute retardation. Putting aside all thing about gold costs and whatever, 1st person mode? Why would a RTS based game EVER have a 1st person view even coded in to the engine and even more, why would it fit in
1) Intended to be annoying.Skill #2:
Flashbang: Most annoying skill EVER.
Smoke: We already have Night Hound smoke bomb. Sorry.
Frag: Bland, anyone? And also, AoE ranged nuke on agi melee hero? Fitting?
2) Apply same logic to stuns. This also works differently and has no silence or slow on it.
3) Yea its bland, but it is both dodgable and part of the CT 'utility belt'. There's only so many ways you can hurt something. It does have uniqueness to it.
Skill #3: nail on the head
Skill #4: Pretty much. You're not supposed to kill the hostages :P. This ability does need numbers

to make that one Clear: Newerth is a POSTAPOCALYPTIC world, not a medieval one.
and basicaly it is (was) earth.
Your hero is a counter-strike tribute, not a serious hero suggestion. So why expect serious feedback.
Next thing some guy is gonna make a ninja turtles hero design. Would be ridiculous too.
but better, we need more ninja turtles! For the Legion, and Shredder would join the Hellbourne for ultra cool Teenage - Ninja battles while eating pizza and stuff....
yeah.... pure awsomeness!
