Requesting vector targeting back on 2nd ability, since you are both automaticly dragged to the clicked spot, it's difficult to pick a spot and shoot the gauntlet in the direction you want it to go.
I still don't get this second ability at all...
You just point to position you want to "leap" to, dragging 1 unit with you, and silencing units where you land.
Its a nerfed pharaoh ult. Still it is more useful than the last one. Before it was wtfbad.
Good thing about playing with friends: you will never get kicked when picking Night Hound as Orange or Brown.
They should add some damage to it
its still better then old hook and new gauntlet is way better
The hook was decent when it had vector. I made some pretty sweet catches on people running away with low hp. Now it just sucks. Cant even use it to save people anymore.
The range increase on grapple is incorrect. There is no range increase. - increasing level only increases silence by 0.5 seconds a rank, which seems rather pointless.
Allow range increase on leveling or do the same thing as devourer. Maybe find some other reason to level this up beyond lvl 1?
The ultimate seems weird since you click where it is going to fly, but it won't fly full duration? :S why wouldn't you want that?
Allow it to fly full duration
They should just keep the silence and bring back the vector targeting hook ( but fix the few bugs with it). We already have similar abilities like the straight hook, devos hook, valks arrow and pharaohs ult. Vector hook although similar it requires more skill but also it is more rewarding as you can pull some crazy pulls wiht it.
idk if I would call ult + infernal instability useless. Can do some pretty good damage on a person. I also think his ulti kills couriers, I thought i got a double kill and saw that I killed a courier somehow, so maybe its just the AOE effect on infernal instability, not sure if thats intentional.
Yes you can.
If you click at a point between you and the target, the hand still goes the full length of the grab and brings you both in the middle.
You can also click it right near yourself and just plain hook them to your side.
Think about it this way:
It's a shorter version of devourer's hook, but you can push yourself and someone, you can pull yourself and the other person in between where you are, or you can pull someone to your side.
In my opinion, the vector system was way too slow in a real fight where you don't have the time to drag vectors in order to catch a moving target. This one is as interesting but simpler to use. Plus it now has silence/slow/damage if your abilities are all charged up and applied.

True, true. It does some damage, but I really think they way over nerfed it. It does OK damage mid game (kind of OK) and lame damage late game. They needed to tone it down, but I think the spun the valve too far in the wrong direction.
@Cord Hmm... Did I understand the change wrong? Do you click in two places, and it works similar to the previous version but more simplified? It seemed more like a crappy version of Devours grab. How do you set up the vector, if it is how you say it is? Thx.

Yes it does increase the range. If you read the tooltip, you'll see that the hand always travels the same distance at all levels. What changes is how far away you can set the drag point. So, you can push yourself/someone way away from the battle if you want to at the higher levels.
Edit: Watch Ninjapants' video demonstrating how it works (from his mod that created this remake). http://www.justin.tv/stealthtrousers/b/263905832

One new potential of the new hook is essentially teleporting teammates into a fight with you.
Stand in the woods or something with an ally. Have them stand in front of you. Target the hook onto a group of enemy heroes.
Now you've just pulled yourself and your ally right into the middle of them for a nice initiation.
Would be fun to try this with allies who have an aoe ultimate.
For example, have tree cloak in front of you so they don't expect it. Hook yourselves into the enemy team. Tree ults. Gauntlet bashes with his fist/ult, etc.
Think of it as a buddy portal key.

Hmm, I think I understand how it works now. I can see the benefits of it, but I liked the other one better. I can see why ppl like this one and why they'd keep it as is though. Even if the movement of the chain seemed a bit illogical it was fun and tricky. It was fun playing it while it was around.
