HoN Survivor 1.0
Introduction
Welcome to my first attempt at a forums Survivor game. Many of you may be familiar with the TV series Survivor??? or you may not be, either way I am going to try and bring this fun game to our delightful OT forums. This is my first time hosting a forum game so bear with me on the technicalities and possible suckage, but if this works out to be a success, I will look to improve on future content.
Goal of the Game
The goal of Survivor is to be player remaining. Each turn players will be forced to vote 1 player out of the game. When only 1 player remains, he will be declared the winner.
Prize
For this game, there will be only bragging rights.
Format
To sign up, simply leave a post in the thread in
green saying
I will Survive! After that, I will PM you with a confirmation, once you respond to the PM you will be registered to play. The first 14 players will be the starting players and the next 10 will be reserves.
-All potential players will be PMed and required to send a return PM in order to participate.
-If a player becomes inactive, the first in line reserve will step in and take his/her place.
-Only purchased accounts are eligible to participate due to possible time restraints and cheating issues.
-I hold the right to deny any person the right to play the game that I please.
Once the 14 players and 10 reserves are selected, the 14 players will be randomly placed into 2 teams called
Team Legion and
Team Hellbourne. Once this is done, I will post a new thread with the team members and send a second PM to all players and reserves a link to the new thread. From there,
Team Legion will decide who will be
Jeriziah and
Team Hellbourne will decide who will be
Maliken (picking team captains).
-It is very important that you chose your team captain well because they will have the final say in all contest.
-Team captains will need to keep in close touch with me.
-To decide a team captain, vote for the person you choose in
red if you're
Team Hellbourne or in
green if you're
Team Legion. Once all 7 players have voted if there is no winner, I will ask for a revote. This will happen until a winner is chosen. This is done by posting in the thread.
Once
Jeriziah and
Maliken are chosen, the game will begin.
First Stage
Rounds 1 through 4 possibly 5, 6, 7, & 8
Each of these rounds will be started with a Team vs Team question. I will post a question on the thread that both teams will need to decide an answer for. The questions will have a certain theme to them that will be stated (most will be HoN related). The members of each team will have to communicate with each other, through PMs, on IRC, or otherwise, to decide on an answer. When the team is ready, the team captain (
Jeriziah and
Maliken) will PM me with their answer.
-The team that gets it right will be safe for this round.
-In the act of a tie, the team that answered first will be safe.
-If no one is correct, I will ask a new question.
This part of the round last until both
Jeriziah and
Maliken have sent me a PM with an answer. Once you send me a PM, you may not change your answer. After both have answered, I will post both answers and the outcome on the thread. The team that is safe is done for now.
The team that isn't, will go onto the Elimination Vote.
Elimination Vote
This is for whichever team lost the Round. Each member on the team must now vote for who the want to vote out of the game. Each member will make a post in
blue of the name of the player on their team they want to vote off. For example I would post
Izual to vote myself off. Once all votes are accounted for, the player with the most votes will be removed from the game. I will post the results of the votes once everyone has voted and the outcome as to what will be done next.
-Unlike the TV show, all members of the game will know who is voting for whom.
-If a player does not cast his vote within 48 hours of the beginning of this phase, their vote will not count and a reserve will replace them, unless they are voted out.
-In the result of a tie, a revote will take place.
If
Maliken or
Jeriziah is voted out, a new phase will begin where the team must now vote for a new
Maliken or
Jeriziah. This will be done the same way as the first vote, where you will post your vote in your respective color.
These rounds will go on until 6 players remain or one team has less than 3 players.
If the game becomes 3v3 or Xv2, the game will then go into the second stage.
Second Stage
In this stage, both teams will be combined into 1 team. There will no longer be a
Maliken or
Jeriziah and all players must now fend for themselves. The max players at the start of this stage can be 9 and the minimum can be 6.
Question rounds will take place the same, this time each individual player must PM me their answer. The same format for PM response time and answer validation will be kept as before. The winner of the question round will receive a temporary
Barrier Idol from the vote round. The
Barrier Idol can be held by the winning player or given during the duration of the vote to another player (only once per vote round). The
Barrier Idol saves the player whom has it in possession from being voted out. (So a player can protect himself from being voted out or save someone else) Transferring the
Barrier Idol must be done BEFORE the last vote of the vote round is posted, otherwise the transfer is invalid. To transfer the
Barrier Idol, type
I give the Barrier Idol to Izual in
yellow.
You cannot vote for the person who has the
Barrier Idol, if the
Barrier Idol is transferred to a player who already has votes for them, a revote will be immediately called for. (at this point, the
Barrier Idol cannot be transferred anymore) Once the voting is over a player is eliminated, the
Barrier Idol is taken back up by me and given back out during the next question round.
Once there are 3 players left, the Final Stage begins.
Final Stage
When there are 3 players left, there will no longer be a question round. A last and final vote round will take place where 1 player will be voted out, leaving the remaining down to 2.
At this time, all remaining players (or their replacement) will be notified via PM that they are required back into the game. Once 12 of the available players/replacements are back, a final vote will take place. Only the 12 players who were eliminated may vote (or their replacement). They will this time be voting for WHO THEY WANT TO WIN. You will post in the thread
I choose you Izual! in
orange for who you want to win. Once all votes are tallied, I will post the final results and the winner!
-In the result of a tie, a revote will take place, if this is continuous, other means will be taken to decide a winner in similar fashion. If 12 of the original 22 players not still in the game cannot be contacted, then the ones who can will vote.
