Heroes of Newerth Client Known Issues
READ BEFORE POSTING! THREADS MAY BE REJECTED WITHOUT NOTICE IF THE ISSUE IS ALREADY KNOWN.
Temporary User Hotfixes:
- "Empty response from server" error after a fresh install or a long period of time without playing HoN: go into console (ctrl+F8) and type "checkforupdates"

- Alt+S hotkey function in-game not working: may be Netgear Utility or some other applications in the background. Use Task Manager to end processes one-by-one and see if it solves the issue.
- HoNTV not working: You don't have Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer (Google Chrome comes with it already integrated in the browser, but it's not actually installed). Open this link with a non-Google Chrome internet browser and install it (make sure antivirus/firewalls are off so you won't get it stuck at 12% installation): http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
- Being able to scroll past the map edge into darkness: open up Practice Mode -> Test++ -> Camera Option -> Camera Distance. Toggle "Camera Distance" to green and then back to white and it should be fixed.
- Black/White textures in-game: this is caused by playing too many HoN games in a row. Restart the HoN application to fix it.
- Taunt disabled even though you bought Taunt: go to Store -> Open Vault -> Taunts and then make sure that Taunt is enabled.
- Interface-related troubles: backup the file "startup.cfg" in My Documents\Heroes of Newerth\game and delete the original startup.cfg. If it doesn't fix the problem, restore the startup.cfg. Be warned, startup.cfg saves all your custom keybinds and settings (which is why I told you to back it up!)
- AoE Cursor Mini-lag spikes: This is most likely caused by your antivirus program (known antivirus programs that cause this include: Trend Micro). Please try disabling it first during a HoN game and see if it fixes the issue - if it does, completely uninstall that antivirus program and find a new one that doesn't cause this issue.
- Health bar options not saving: open HoN, open the console by pressing Ctrl+F8 and then typing in the following:
SetSave ui_altInfoStyle 1

- "On-Screen Info" does not have the proper "show HP bars temporarily" function bound to it. (Probably broken by Alt ping feature)
