In this remake i will be discussing about Legionnaire's Whirling Blade.
Currently
Radius: 300
Cooldown: 0.7 / 0.65 / 0.6 / 0.55 Seconds
Required Level: 1 / 3 / 5 / 7
On Attack
17% chance to damage enemies in 300 radius for 100 / 125 / 150 / 175 when attacked
With changes
Radius: 300
Cooldown: 0.7 / 0.65 / 0.6 / 0.55 Seconds
Required Level: 1 / 3 / 5 / 7
On Attack
15% chance to damage enemies in 300 radius for 100 / 125 / 150 / 175 when attacked.
Every attack taken without triggering this ability will give a charge.
Every 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 charges wll trigger this ability.
Triggering this ability will reset charges.
What would this do ?
Legionnaire currently depends only on luck of the triggers. Jungling with him can be painfull without any procs with this skill.
So this would take the randomness factor little bit smaller, and better hero to pick and play.
Changes:
8.6.2010: Huge changes to skill. Reducing triggering chance and other things.
10.6.2010: Few bigger changes, again!
11.6.2010: Balanced it back

if he spin when he got like ...3 charges will it reset to 0?
yes, although the percentage and/or minimum charges might need a tweak.
I think that once the charges fill up to 8/7/6/5 the ability is triggered on the next attack, then reseting the charges, but if the actual passive is triggered then the charges just wait for the next attack before they stack up. Legionnaires ability is a passive, so this would be a triggered sub-skill passive.
...Unless if the OP desires that the charges go away whenever the ability is triggered, but that would basically make the change kinda useless. Whirling Blade's activate is %17 right? So if you have 3 heroes/creeps attacking you then the percentage jumps up quite a bit, and is triggered more often based on how many things are attacking him.
I like the idea, though depending on implementation of the trigger/charge loss either lower the # needed or leave them the way they are.

Whilst I think that there should always be room for a bit of luck in a game, abilities like Whirling Blade which is Legio's main ability should not be so dependant on it, T-up from me.![]()
No. This would make him too powerful. You would probably need to remove the 17% and make it a charge only, similar to Chronos. And actually this would be a really good change if it were charge only. You trigger the creepwave to attack you and you almost instantly get a whirl. If you're 1v1ing someone it would be a fair-er fight on both sides: they wouldn't get whirled every hit by chance and you would get guaranteed whirls every 5 hits (probably need to go 7,6,5,4).
Actually this wont even change the spin to be "better" but instead it is more reliable. It doesnt mean that this change he would spin more because when the 17% chance procs it will reset the charges anyway so this change doesnt change anything unless you wont spin for 5 hits consecutively.
Hmm... I'd love to see just charges and not both charges and % proc. But I'd like this too, it's a real step towards better lego-man.
We should see how it works after S2 replaced their C rand function with a Mersenne Twister
