great guide... premium imo. i'm not a big fan of ice imprisonment. i used it on swiftblade once, and then then ulted and killed me like he nothing had happened. is that a bug, or what?
Its a don't solo swift as glacius thing, id say.

Nice guide. Very close to how I play Glacius.
A few things:
- AFAIK Magebane can blink out of Ice imprisonment. I've seen it happen many times and it's pretty useless to imprison this hero.
- Do you have any tips on farming with Glacius? I know he is not so item dependent but I'm having a real hard time due to slow attack speed/low damage.
- Glacial downpour... is that skill really any good? I think it's such a situational skill. Best to be used only if your enemies are retreating. I usually never put a skill in it because of the channeling which means ZERO mobility. I always find Glacius is a prime target and he always needs his mobility.
Early game: I harass with Tundra and abuse the AOE effect of it to try and hit both heroes or at least the melee one that comes into range. He can dominate lanes very early pretty simply.
Mid-Late game: Babysit the carry/nuker. Go around being their pet that freezes/slows and help feeding them.
yea this is how i recall it as well. All escape spells afaik are usable (like blink etc) while frozen so its kinda useless to cast it on those heroes. Well written guide.
You can wreck whole teams with it.
K I did some research and it seems you guys were right about the mechanics, ty. That has all been updated.
As far as the farming thing goes, there is no secret. Just do your best to last hit despite your low damage and grab creep kills here and there with tundra blast. +3 mana/sec + Glacius' high int gain should be enough that you can basically nuke once/creep wave without any severe effects on your mana pool.
Yea his ult may not be the best but it is still worth taking. If you cast Ice imprisonment before it, I see no reason not to cast your ult over tundra blast or kiting the whole fight.

Great guide man! I really think wards are needed every game to help see ganks coming and also to set them up. This is one of the best heroes to get wards on. Not a fan of portal key for this type of hero. I have to agree with shrunken head being alot more useful for him.

About his ult, I've seen people sit in it for 4 seconds and get hit twice, or get hit 5 times in the first second (something similar happened to me yesterday, actuallly) but for 150 mana and the damage it CAN deal it it's definately worth taking. It's just an ulting glacius is everyone's favorite thing to stun/focus/kill cuz you have no hp.

Ty for the guide(glad to see you're not giving up on us newbies)... I love this hero but starting mid game, I become the fking Eldorado. As soon as I start to even think about farming, there is a gank on my ass... I play newbie games( mostly EM, damn it) . In later games I went 2x Bracers, Enhanced Marchers and behe heart. If I still have $$ I buy HoL and 10 armor.
Dunno what is with ppl today....as soon as they see glacius, they start to fking drool!!!>_<

I prefer to go blast/aura/aura/block/aura/block/aura/block/block, then 10 and 11 you get ult ult. It's too random right now for the low level use and it's really only useful in teamfights that happen more mid and lategame, past level 10 or 11. Keep in mind I rarely play anything under an IH or higher skilled game, so it might change for average use.
And to help last hit, buy the +attack item from the Outpost (Q button I believe). Then just rush phase boots. Helps the last hit so much it's not even funny.
Otherwise, yea, use blast to get last hits if you see one low and you know you won't get it becuase his auto attack is like throwing a square bowling ball up an uphill gutter covered in tar.

Iono man, even when I played CM in hs dota I found ult at level 6 useful. And that is when it cost 300 mana. The amount of kills/assists I got with freezing field between level 6-9 was enough that I was more then convinced it was worth taking.
And I already addressed why I prefer block over blast at level 1. I'm sure you're a skilled player though so I won't try to convince you

Do you set the wards down with your courier? Or do you usually place them with Glacius? Otherwise, I'm wondering what use the courier will have.
Also, do you always upgrade to winged?
Ya I always upgrade to winged, it's usually the first thing I do with the 200 g i make in lane.
I place wards using the hero not the courier. You can't place wards with the courier.
The courier is for your team, allowing them to access their items much easier from in-lane instead of going to the shops.
