    Arrow Silv3ri's Mods [9 July 2012]

    Silv3ri's Mods
Update: All mods have been updated to at least work with HoN v2.6.9

My mods focus on making certain user interface (UI) elements clearer and simpler, and also on improving your awareness of the state of the game and of your own hero. I prefer making minor changes to the default UI and adding support for UI overhaul mods like xUI, MiniUI or BardUI are a low priority for me (you are welcome to add that support yourself, and if you message me or post here I'll add your fix). Anyway, hope you find something that interests you! Just leave a message if you have any ideas or find any bugs.

v0.3.1 - 22/06/2010 - Font change options now also work with default chat.

v0.2 - 22/06/2010 - Ability to change font sizes added (thanks to MaxGhost). Font change requires a restart (or reloadinterfaces) before it works.
    v0.1 - 21/06/2010 - Released.

    Known Issues
-consecutive duplicate messages are not shown, this is a side effect of the way that Bang! Lib Chat Parser works
-still shows gold gain when the gold is split (might keep this...)
-if two players have names where the one name is 'contained' at the end of another player's name - might not replace with the hero name properly, but only partially with other player's hero!
-if a player contains a name that is a string that the game usually uses in game messages... it might also replace that in some rare cases - just post here if it happens and until a fix, just disable the hero names feature for that game
-font size change requires a restart (or reloadinterfaces) before it updates

    Todo
-show player's name in color when sent in chat message
    -make default chat resizeable
    -make more game messages optional

    Concise Ally Unitframes
    Download: v0.2.2

    • Idea, design and layout by M00_cow
    • Shows allied player's hero icon, health & mana percentage, skill icons, skill countdowns and skill usability status
    • Skill icons are grayscale whenever they can't be used
    • Also shows player and skill names on mouse overlay
    • Easy, no-frills and simple to customize

    Why?
I made these unitframes in response to this request with design and layout by M00_cow, and anyway, all the modders seem to be making unitframes these days, so why not join in!

    Screenshot

    Original design

    Final outcome

Plague Rider and Torturer have spells on cooldown, while Demented Shaman has a shortage of mana and Swiftblade is busy spinning and is thus silenced.

Respawn timer when a hero is dead.

Shows skill names when you move the mouse over skill icon.

    Cooldown Times
    Download: v0.1

    • Adds a value under the skills to show their total cooldown time
    • Mostly just uses Notausgang's code from his Mana Costs mod
    • Original idea and request made by Laala
    • Not compatible with MiniUI!

    Why
It's quicker too see which skills can only be used sparingly and which can be spammed often.

    Screenshot

The yellow numbers under the skills show the skill's total cooldown time
    Screenshot also shows Biomass's StatusBarPlus,
Silv3ri's Mana Cooldown Timers, Notausgang's Mana Costs and BitE's DarkUI mods.

    Details

    Changelog
v0.1.1 - 15/01/2011 - Found that I've always been using the mod and that it's very useful to me, so I added it to my main thread.
v0.1.1 - 25/06/2010 - Actually released it a long time ago because of a request made by Laala.

    Mana Cooldown Timers
    Download: v0.1.13

    • Adds an extra cooldown timer to spells that shows how long you have to wait before you have enough mana to cast them
    • Calculated using current mana regen (and thus also accounts for mana potions)

    Screenshots

The skill on the left is on cooldown (numbers changed to yellow), while the one the right just doesn't have enough mana to cast and now displays a timer until you do (screenshot also shows Notausgang's Mana Costs mod and Biomass's StatusBarPlus mod).

    Two different display options:

    Details

    Changelog

    v0.1.11 - 05/02/2011 - Fix for HoN v2.0.11 (they added font outlines)
    v0.1.10 - 31/01/2010 - Fixed incompatibility with older BardUI++ versions
    v0.1.9 - 26/01/2011 - Added compatibility with BardUI++ (currently doesn't use BardUI++'s option for 0.1 second accuracy)

v0.1.5 - 23/05/2010 - Another small bug fix (in MiniUI too) - cooldowns getting stuck when mana full.
v0.1.4 - 22/05/2010 - Fixed same bug happening in MiniUI.
v0.1.3 - 22/05/2010 - Fixed small bug. Spell cooldown timers should no longer get stuck when you die.
    v0.1.2 - 20/05/2010 - Reduced console warnings.
v0.1.1 - 19/05/2010 - Added compatibility with MiniUI (one graphical glitch though, the countdown timer isn't yellow, but same blue as mana timer)
    v0.1 - 19/05/2010 - Released. (Original idea)

    Known Issues
-spells like Scout's Vanish that have a mana upkeep (which isn't subtracted from your mana regen) aren't taken into account while the ability is activated
-spells like Electrician's Electric Shield that have extra mana requirements, beyond the mana cost, aren't taken into account
-spells like Witch Slayer's Power Drain that give mana without altering mana regen, aren't taken into account while the ability is active (timers will still work, but seconds will countdown faster than once a second)

    Todo
-do the same with items in your inventory

    Download: v0.9.2

    • Adds a button on the top status bar that mimics having the client login
    • This allows you to create practice games and to view the hero compendium without needing to login

    Why?
If you often do testing of features without logging in (like practice mode or viewing replays), then this will allow you to use more of the interface including features like the hero compendium.

    Details

    • Adds a button to the status bar that creates a practice game without needing to login

    Random Potential Hero
    Download: v0.2
You can select a hero by left-clicking them. You can potential-select a hero by right-clicking them. You can left-click the dice to randomly select a hero. And now, you can...

    • Functionality added when you right-click the dice button. Allows you to randomly potential-select a hero
    • You can use it multiple times till you're satisfied with the choice
    • Does NOT give you any bonus gold for "random" picking a hero this way
    • Initial concept by Rean and kevs926

    Why?
You have difficulty choosing a hero when you play. Possible because you like selecting different, almost-random, heroes each game, but don't want to get a hero with which you won't be capable of helping your team.

    Screenshot

Right clicking this button will do this:

Now you have a potential-selected hero. If you click select, he will be chosen (no need to go and look for his icon!).

    Details
    Changelog
    v0.2 - 25/01/2011 - Added quick-select button when a potential hero is selected using the random-dice
    v0.1 - 22/01/2011 - Created.

    Known Issues
-not tested for when a hero that someone else selected has been randomed
-the select button might prevent you from clicking the ready button in certain situations. if that happens, just report here with details about when it happens.

    Reconstitute Messages
    Download: v0.2.6

    • You can set custom strings to be searched for and the strings with which they should be replaced
    • Then, whenever you send a chat message it will search for the custom string and, if found, replace it with the string specified

    Details

    Changelog
    v0.2.6 - 19/06/2012 - Fixed compatibility with v2.6.6.
    v0.2.4 - 14/07/2010 - Fixed sending empty strings.
v0.2.3 - 09/07/2010 - Fixed bug where sending an empty chat message crashes the game.
v0.2.2 - 09/07/2010 - Fixed bug converting all original parts of a chat message to lowercase.
    v0.2.1 - 08/07/2010 - Fixed chat delay bug.
v0.2 - 08/07/2010 - Now works with Bang! libSlash. Now has 20 search-replacement string pairs. All search strings are now case-insensitive. Now only posts the first 150 characters of string to the chat. String options (specifically) limited to 150 characters.
    v0.1 - 06/07/2010 - Released. Idea/request from here.

    Known Issues
-if your replacement message is shorter than your search string, the game has a rare bug where, if there are multiple cases of a search string within your message, not all cases of the search string might be replaced (only every second or something)
-if your replacement string contains your search string, the game will crash if the string is found in your chat message (only valid for each search-replace string pair)
-Currently incompatible with [B]Bang! libSlash[/B], you have to use either the one or the other until I update Fixed!

    Todo
    -do same for lobby chat
    -proper v0.2.4 empty-line bug fix

    Scoreboard Redone
    Download: v0.1.5
    Alternate Version (no-sorting): v0.1.4

Alters the in-game scoreboard with a few subtle, but useful changes:

    • Players are now sorted by level (within each team) instead of always being in the same order according to colour/position.
    • Removed the open/close button. Scoreboard can now be opened or closed by just clicking anywhere on it (like from PB: Scoreboard).
    • Removes the 'Add as Friend' button to avoid accidents when just clicking anywhere on scoreboard (and it's not that useful according to me).

    Why?
Having the players sorted by level means that by just quickly glancing at the scoreboard you can more easily determine how well the lanes are progressing and which team has the upper hand. It's also much quicker to open/close the scoreboard with this method than using that miniature open/close button.

    Screenshots

    Before:

    After:

Note the players ordered by level.

    Details

    Changelog
v0.1.5 - 19/06/2012 - Fixed compatibility with v2.6.6. Only sorting version required changes.
v0.1.4 - 01/02/2011 - Mod now applies before BardUI++ to prevent rare 'Trigger not found' console spam
v0.1.3 - 23/01/2011 - Also open/close scoreboard when clicking on hero icons (those that enlarge on mouseover)
    v0.1.2 - 08/01/2011 - Updated to work with HoN v2.0.5 (S2 added a hero icon preview feature)
v0.1.1 - 26/12/2010 - Per request I also released an alternate version that doesn't include the sorting of players.
v0.1.1 - 26/12/2010 - Fixed a critical bug that sometimes prevents right-clicking! Thanks to ThzChz for figuring it out.
    v0.1 - 21/12/2010 - Created.

    v0.1 - 03/05/2010 - Created

    Known Issues
-All hero-like units that belong to the same player as selected hero unit, will display the health of the selected hero unit (e.g. images)
-Selecting a unit that belongs to a hero (e.g. toxin wards, gadgets), will display that unit's health above hero
-Doesn't update instantly (switching between name/health) when unselecting a unit (but does when selecting something else)
-Takes a while to update after changing Player Names Lite's 'Show Name' option
-Currently doesn't work on the heroes of disconnected players

    Download: v0.7.3
Separates the chat panel into two separate panels, one for user chat and the other for game notifications.

Two movable frames, one for normal chat, and the other for game messages (this screenshot also shows the Chat Redone mod editing the formatting of game messages).

    v0.7.2 - 26/06/2012 - Added support for xUI.
v0.7.1 - 25/06/2012 - Fixed not clearing between games. Made template's fonts and fadetime customizable (in code).
v0.7 - 19/06/2012 - Completely rewritten and now compatible with v2.6.6. Does not require Bang! Lib Chat Parser anymore. Not tested at all against other UI-overhaul mods like MiniUI or xUI (but since the new code is much simpler...).
v0.6 - 28/01/2011 - Added mod to my main thread, made it auto-updatable, and fixed errors with BardUI++ and other mods that use game messages.

    Known Issues:
    -/clear command is ignored
-doesn't store messages from the first few seconds of game in chat history
-doesn't separate ping commands as chat messages

    Statusboard
    Download: v0.2.1
Adds two movable panels that show hero icons, in a horizontal arrangement, for both teams:

    • Shows level above icons
    • Icons are sorted by level (optional)
    • When a hero is dead, shows a respawn timer below
    • Shows usual status icons like: disconnected, reconnecting, voting
    • Shift+right-clicking opens menus with options for player-specific actions, like: sharing courier, add as friend, etc.
    • Panels are movable

    Screenshots

The two panels. Hero icons are optionally sorted by level with the higher levels towards the center (assuming legion board is left and hellbourne board is right).

    Shift+right-click menu.

    Changelog
    v0.2.1 - 19/06/2012 - Fixed compatibility with v2.6.6.
v0.2 - 18/02/2011 - Sorting by level is now optional. Right-click menus now require shift+right-click to open.

    v0.1- 14/02/2011 - Released

    Known Issues
-none yet, but not well tested for games with less than 5v5's
-also, right-click menus need lots of testing

    Todo
    -make certain features optional
-update right-click menu according to status of option (for example: add 'Unshare Courier' option when courier is already shared)
-remove players that have completely left the game
    -show afk indicator
-show timer for player rejoining game
    -show voip indicator

    Straight Hero Traits
    Download: v0.4.8

    • Displays the traits of heroes in a more helpful and straightforward manner
    • By clicking on the values, you can alternate between:
      • damage and damage per second
      • armour and physical and magical resistances
      • showing attack cooldown

    • Also adds an overlay number to the damage icon. This number represents your attack range (it's rounded to the hundreds, thus a range of 550 gives 6 and a melee range of 125 gives 1)
    • Works for active and selected units

    Screenshots
    Before:

    After:

Note the number 6 overlaying the damage icon. That's because this hero has an attack range of 550 (which rounds to 600).

v0.2 - 19/05/2010 - Made some parts optional (all except the range overlay). Now requires Mod Options Framework.
    v0.1 - 18/05/2010 - Released.

    Known Issues
-If you change options while in-game, the old values will show until their values change; like when you level up or add/remove an item that affects the value (only really a problem for magic resistance which doesn't often change).
-In MiniUI, the range label does not scale along with the damage icon.

    Todo
-Do same for selected heroes Done!
    -Set colours as options
-MiniUI: Enable/disable trait views just by clicking on them
    -MiniUI: Add attack-cooldown/cast-cooldown

    Simple Shop Tooltips
Download: [Unnecessary - they redid the shop to make things simpler] v0.2.2

    • Replaces the tooltips describing the different shop sections with clearer and more direct tooltips that also use colour codes

    Colour Codes

    • Type: Items/Recipes
    • Uses: Stats, Move Speed, Regen, Attack Speed, Damage, Armor, Modify, Survivability, Combat Prowess
    • Strength: Basic/Powerful
    • Location: Forest, Side Lanes

    Why?
A guide told me to buy an iron shield and I just couldn't find it (only the iron buckler). I wrote the mod, applied it, and voila, there it was under recipes that provide survivability. True story.
Also, reorganizing the whole way the items are grouped in the shop is very hard.

    [Not Working] Translate Chat
Update:Since HoN v2.0.8 it might now be impossible for mods to contact external servers (still need confirmation for this). While very good for security reasons, it means that I won't be able to get this mod working any more.
    Download: [Not working] v0.5.3 [Experimental]
    Requirements: Bang! Lib Chat Parser
    Suggested: Bang! libSlash

    • Adds a button in-game that helps with translating chat by sending the messages through Google's Translate servers
    • While you type a chat message, the button will become blue
    • Pressing the button while blue, will make it translate your currently typed message to chosen language and either output it directly to chat or just replace your currently typed message
    • When chat from other players is detected, the button will become green
    • Pressing the button while green, will make it translate the last chat message detected to chosen language
    • You need to set the languages for conversion, but advanced options are provided for using language auto-detection
    • Language can be changed quickly by using a slash command: e.g. /stl de if you want to change your translation language to German (stl stands for set translation language) - requires Bang! libSlash
    • Keybind can be added to use button
    • Right clicking the button will enable auto-translate mode; in this mode all messages will be translated to your language as soon as they are detected (mode not testable in practice mode)

    Character Support
The following characters and symbols are supported:

    • basic Latin
    • lower-case vowels with diaeresis, graves, accents and circumflexes
    • lower-case Cyrillic alphabet

    Not supported yet:

    • apostrophes and angled brackets
    • nouns with any diacritics
    • uppercase vowels with any diacritics
    • vowels with tildes
    • other rare extended Latin symbols
    • upper-case Cyrillic
    • extended Cyrillic
    • anything else that's is not Latin or Cyrillic

    Screenshots

All grey text can optionally be removed.

    Some options

    Details
    Experimental?
This script is marked as experimental because I still need to find proper hosting for my script that modifies the output of Google's Translate servers and because it has one big issue which is that the translation results will not work 100% if text containing special characters (non-Latin) was sent (works when they are received). This issue is caused by a bug in the game and I've implemented a work-around for it, but it requires that I add support for each individual unsupported character, manually.

    Warnings
If you get the following message:
Warning, string contains characters that might not be sent correctly!
it means that the string you sent contains a character that the mod does not yet support. If you want support for that character added, just post here which character it is (or with a screenshot of a message that causes the problems).

    Changelog
v0.5.3 - 20/12/2010 - Button always above default UI. Removed requirement for Movable Frames or Mod Options.
v0.5.2 - 28/06/2010 - Made sending translation directly to chat optional. You can now have it replace your currently typed text in your chatbox (that way, you can see the result before you choose to send it).
v0.5.1 - 23/06/2010 - Simplified options layout (without removing any features) and added support for vowels with circumflexes.
v0.5 - 23/06/2010 - Now handles extended character sets! Currently added: vowels with diaeresis, graves, accents and also the lower-case Cyrillic alphabet. Also added option to not use language detection when translating chat text.
    v0.4.2 - 01/06/2010 - Made Bang! libSlash optional.
v0.4.1 - 01/06/2010 - Removed test code that I forgot to remove in v0.4, and which prevented mod from working. Also added a warning if certain symbols, which won't encode correctly, are found.
v0.4 - 01/06/2010 - Added keybind for button (doesn't work while typing in chatbox). Text on button always shows to which language it will be translated. Won't change translation language to your own when using auto-change feature. Auto-mode implemented, but untested (not testable in Practice mode). Added slash command to quickly change language. Now requires Bang! libSlash.
v0.3 - 24/05/2010 - Added options for changing your language in response to last auto-detected message. Disabled button when nothing to send (should lessen any Server Error 400 responses). Most of the code for the auto-translate feature is ready, but it is disabled until I add code to prevent infinite loops from happening (where your own translation is auto-translated!).
v0.2 - 23/05/2010 - Added chat textbox detection and translation of most
recent in-game chat message. Now requires Bang! Lib Chat Parser.
v0.1.2 - 23/05/2010 - Button shows language that will be translated to. Still fiddling with handling of special characters (works for received text, not sent text).
v0.1.1 - 22/05/2010 - More Language codes in list. Nicer looking button. Added method to help with non-standard character handling (still considering alternatives).
    v0.1 - 21/05/2010 - Released. (Original idea)

    Known Issues
-can't send non-standard characters when using the <form> command (discussion/bug)
-most recent chat messages, that can be translated, include your own messages (actually necessary for testing in practice mode)
-chat messages with colour codes in them, still contain some of those characters in the translation
-you need to spell correctly and not use abbreviations if you want valid translations
-because the language you type is auto-detected, it might be less accurate than necessary Now an option.
-when language auto-changes, the mod options Mod Options textbox doesn't show the updated value
-the mod itself is only English

    Todo
    -simplify mod usage
-add /adl command, to auto-detect last message's language (will be helpful in removing some other automation features, which should simplify the mod as a whole)
-detect when no valid translation was found for the string (thus, input and output identical)
-make shortcut key work more often
-find better hosting for the PHP script that serializes the output of Google's servers (in the works...)
-use [B]Bang! Lib Chat Parser[/B] to read chat from other players and enable you to translate that Done!
-auto translate all chat without requiring user input (but not your own chat or local chat messages) Done, but testing required.
-add keybind for translate button Done, but doesn't work while typing in chatbox
-add function to manually encode characters so that other charsets are at least possible (and then make it easy for others to add their own charsets) Implemented
-add option so that it's easy to quickly change the translation language manually (popup box or slash command) Implemented slash command
-have option so that chatbox loses focus, clears contents and closes whenever a successful translation is sent
-add small buttons next to each chat message received. the buttons will then translate only that message (and then make that compatible with Split Chat mod - once it's updated) - don't think this is possible
-add more translation buttons in the other chat areas of the game (lobby, chatrooms)
-maybe try to have translated string be copied to clipboard instead of sent directly
    -make mod translatable?

Note: I am not affiliated with Google. I did not ask them permission to perform these requests on their servers, nor to use their icons.

    [Implemented] Hide Language Choice
Download: [Implemented in HoN v2.1] [For reference: v1.1]

    • While you are logged in it just hides the language choice combo-box on the system bar
    • Now also hides the 'Logged In As:' text next to your username

    Why?
Some people with limited resolution might find that they need the extra space, especially since the newest patch added the Report Player button.

    Screenshot

    Changelog
v1.1 - 16/10/2010 - Now also removes 'Logged In As:' text (suggested by `tron).
    v1.0 - 03/07/2010 - Released.

    [Implemented] Shop Recipe Total Costs
Download: [Implemented in HoN v2.0.6] [For Reference: v1.1]

    • Changes the recipe costs in the shop to show the full cost, instead of just the scroll cost
    • It then also allows you to see the recipe costs again when you press CTRL

    Why?
This way seems more intuitive to me.

    Screenshots
    Normally (before mod is applied)

Post haste shows cost as 2200 (of scroll)

    Mod ( after applied)

Post haste costs shows 2700, while scroll shows 2200 (seen while pressing CTRL)

    Changelog
v1.1 - 16/10/2010 - Compatibility with Bang! Autobuy fixed (first done by hsram) and made mod auto-updatable.
    v1.0 - 15/05/2010 - Released.

Could we have options to toggle some parts of some of your mods, for example Straight Hero Traits? I want the phys/magic armor, and range number, but not the dps.

You should already be able do that now (with v0.2), by setting it in the options:

Name:	Screenshot-Trait-Options.JPG
Views:	2571
Size:	29.6 KB
ID:	4740
Or do you mean that you want to be able to do it quickly in-game, for example by clicking on the damage itself? (this is something I considered, but because the damage won't update instantly anyway, I didn't bother)

Or do you mean something else?

The skill on the left is on cooldown (numbers changed to yellow), while the one the right just doesn't have enough mana to cast and now displays a timer until you do (screenshot also shows Notausgang's Mana Costs mod and Biomass's StatusBarPlus mod).

Make sure that you have v0.2.1 because any earlier versions don't work with MiniUI. Otherwise I don't know. Maybe if you could try disabling a few of the mods and seeing whether it suddenly works in a practice game. When I have time, I'll also try checking some of those.
