    It's hard to just tell you what to do, especially since I don't know what you know and don't know. I've got a mic so I can communicate to you exactly what you're doing right and wrong, easily throughout the game. Just add me online. Er, name's Revanche, obviously.
    That'd be great.

    I usually play with my friends , but as soon as I do, I lose yet again. They never want to pay for courier/wards so I'm usually their man, and they don't know their limits; Tower diving just to get that one kill and then get killed by the tower.

    I have more luck playing without my friends, problem is I lack communication between the team if that is the case.

    Tarano is 1797 (from the ladder as of this post, ladder updates slower than ingame stats but he's probably within +/-10 of that), second place is h4nn1 with 1788, chu is #32 with 1737. These are players who were 2000+ pre retail. So... give it time

    Top people in the game are busy jumping on the heads of others to get their PSR back up you just have to wait until your level of players get their chance to jump on the heads of the people below you. That being said Lol I have never seen 1600+ games be so rough although for some reason people still play stupid on my team just not the other side wtf(excluding 1 game with awesome teammates).

    Phishr what time's do you normally play?

    Also I made a friends request to you.

    Hi!

    Before release the 1500 level was spammed by alt accounts and new players. Winning against people that had no clue about the game or someone who had no real interest in winning is not that hard. Most of the bad players didin't buy the game, thus alot of the people get smacked down for a good amount. You can't really compare new and old psr ratings.

    In beta I solo'ed multiple accounts to mid 1600's playing nm bd only. The first couple days after release I was absolutely creamed into a 0.3 kdr and kicked from quite a few games. Afterwards I've climbed myself back out of the low 1400s.

    I know you've heard this a billion times but I'm going to reiterate what worked for me: carry yourself out of the crap bracket, and I say this as a guy who much prefers playing support.

    Choose a semi-carry and solo mid, then proceed to rune whore and take advantage of all the mistakes lower psr players typically make. At the same time, be prepared to buy your own wards and couriers regardless of the fact that you're a carry.

    This probably will rub some people the wrong way, but I like to take control of the game and call out lane assignments / courier / ward duties. In my experience it's a lot easier to get teamwork when the map is warded and you know where the opponents are at all times. I also try to communicate reasoning for doing something more when someone isn't participating, sort of like: "We're all low health but it's 5v3 and we can b after tower".

    In addition to calling my own lane misses, I will call out other lane misses and in addition ping the map if a teammate is playing too far up. This also forces more minimap awareness on my part (something else I'm working on).

    I found Hag and Forsaken as the most effective mids due to their carry / gank / push potential. I lost a few games as Deadwood / Pebbles mid despite going like 15-3 because I was still dependent on teammates for cc / carry.

    I'm still not happy with my SS play, but he's definitely an option too. I find BH mid improves my KDR but not my win percentage.

    you say your friends are bad

    Basicaly the same problem. I'm a dedicated support player with a thing for the pushing ganker (i'm no pro, but i have a thing for ophelia)

    However, it's incerdibly easy to go into a bad streak and after a good start (went up to 159*) my stats simply plumeted as game, after game, after game I'd lose. If i'm doing it right - someone leaves, if I'm with my clan, the other guys turn out to be superpro's pubstomping for psr, if me and 2 friends are rocking two lanes the third one feeds zephyr, if i'm in a game with 9 noobs, the ones on my team turn out worse, if I play a carry (which i don't like to do) my team decides to farm when I'm ready and gives the other team 20 minutes of free woods time, and if I'm mad and frustrated and SUCK, well you figure it...

    I fell bellow 1300, and if you look at my stats now u'd say - dude, u suck look at your stats! Well, ofc, I've lost 15 games in a row, what did you expect?

    The answe, or rather "how i got 150 PSR in a couple of hours" is to play 2v2 games on the other map, either BD or SD, non-em or em, whatever. I found that i can outpick, outmanuvre and outmetagame most opponents (even the ones with better stats), and have not yet lost to a succubuss, which means I'm not really bad (i guess).

    Do not attempt to regain your PSR out of the 12**s playing 5v5, too much can go wrong and it takes too much time and energy to do your best with no teamplay or picking strategy for an hour only to drop 20 psr points for your effort.

    Oh, and the tactic and strategy for 2v2 seems to be -

    1) ban everything with 2 disables, unless you mean to pick it up and can play it (I for some reason cant play withc slayer worth ****-all, but can do a mean polly, the third one to look out for is ofc Succubuss, which is too unsporting for my taste, so I ban her regularly)

    2) pick Armadon

    3) check if you have missed Armadon in your pool, if he's indeed there, pick Armadon

    4) if there is no armadon, pick a ganker/stunner, perferably a str one like hammer or pest, otherwise pick either arachna or something with a stun. Avoid hard carries. If you're playing EM Rampage turns from teh suck into the owning machine if you know your way around and the other team doesn't.

    5) If you picked Armadon proceede to roflstomp. He is, *cough*bullshit*cough* balanced around 5v5 play and homosexual in any other enviroment (it takes a 5 man team to take a good armadon down and they have to chase im across a bigger map all the way from one base to another all the while being AoE nuked for 300 every second or three).

    6) Runwhore like mad, and build Nullstone on everything (if you've banned stuff with more than one disable, nullston makes sure you don't get disabled easily)

    7) Going for a Puzzlebox in a 2v2 is incredibly gay and I haven't done it yet as it is practicaly cheating, but wth, if you need to do it, do it. If you picked succubuss, always make it as you are out of the closet anyway.

    8) Pwn or be pwnt (but quicker, and with less rage if you didn't get Armadon, i. e. had to actually PLAY the game)

    Hf farming psr

    Disclaimer: All this will only increase your PSR not your skill, even if you'll have fun doing it. And it won't work unless you are at least AVERAGE (1600 pre-retail), as you're putting yourself up close and personal against people that might have better skills than you.

    The reason someone might want to farm psr this way anyway is to get into the 1600 bracket so when they play with their friends and lose they go down 5-6 points not 25. Also recommended for people without online friends, as after retail playing 5v5 alone became a nice way to fall in a psr cesspool unless lucky.

    It's still going to be another week before I even consider playing stats games. Too many people significantly better than I am are playing near my PSR.

  15. #55
    yeah i went down to 1250 too after playing a full day all by myself. got so pissed off and waited til my friend bought the game and now we're pubstomping our way up to 1650's or something - you just can't lose when you're playing with friends

  16. #56
    I fell down allmost 150 PSR the first day retail came, I think I lost the first 8 games or so, with an exeption of one 3vs3. I had 17% winning chance..
    Then, after playing with a full team in pubs we won a few matches, and now I have allmost 50% winning, which I guess is OK.
    AMT around 1500 PSR

    I've won 3 games today... which feels good. I don't feel completely shite now. :3

    @AncientPC

    I hate mid. The only guy I can mid with is Soul Reaper, and even then I don't play nearly as good as most mids do. I've seen people massacre our or the enemy team with their mid hero, but I just can't do it.

    @Lujo

    I understand what you're saying, but I simply can't play carry. I find it so boring to farm for 20 mins. Nor can I play 2v2 because I get bored so easily.

    5v5 is more about team play, yes, but I love all the spells going around and trying to stir the mess up. It may be true that if your carries do not pull their weight then it most certainly will result in a loss, but that's blows I'll have to take for playing 5v5.

    @Revanche

    I play whenever I feel like it... but that's mostly around 18:30 - 22:00 Paris time. You'll probably see me online every now and then though.

    Do what I do, lol. Only play Strength heroes xD.
    I was 1700 PSR in Beta,
    now im like 1650?
    I hate playing Agi hereos because most require very little 'skill'. Except maybe Fayde.
    Initator+Ganker is just my style. Keeps me a nice k/d a/d and even though my APM is low (only because I tend to just last hit but don't spam click to move lol, i still path well) I generally come out with a positive k/d and win.

    I'm at 1650+ pre retail and now 1620 post retail, working as intended. Just play better, watch replays and you'll get a higher psr...eventually.

    Edit: I play solo 99% of the time, just play better.
