Yes, I like the idea of a portal rune.
No, I don't like the idea of a portal rune.
Exactly as the title says. Upon being picked up, the next right click of the player will teleport the player to the location in identical range and format to the portal key minus mana cost and the 3 second damage cooldown.
It can be bottled and activated at a later time to behave in the same fashion.
This rune would encourage ganking and allow some heroes reliant on teleporting onto enemies for ganks to become more effective early game.
Ok, my problem is that this rune doesn't have any benefit outside of the short moment you pick it up, unless you have a bottle. So let me just state my argument against the current form of this suggestion.
1.) Losses almost all effectiveness if you don't have a bottle.
- Haste - 45 seconds of max ms.
- Regen - Full Heal - Can be extremely effective to not very effective. Though this is balanced by the fact that it is a very powerful rune. Also balanced by the fact that it can grant some chain spell-casting you normally can't pull off due to the 30 second duration.
- Double Damage- I forget time, I think 45 seconds but whatever amount of time Double damge
- Invisiblity - 60 seconds of stealth.
To fulfill this requirement, I think you should be able to pick-up the rune as though it were an item. Though it would not take up one of the 6 general item slots (which I disagree with) or add an -ability- to your hero to use the rune (I can agree with this more) that lasts for say 60 seconds.
2.) Nerfing portal key. Really your team might have only 1 or 2 pkey initiators (3 might be excessive :3). I just don't like the idea of legionaire being able to buy hotbl and still being able to blink extremely early in the game.
However, I can see this being an interesting element if implemented in a better manner. I do think this is as imbalanced as the refresher rune :\ so I'm a no.
I believe it not being as useful without a bottle is what makes it balanced and actually requires teamwork. You could even go so far as to say, picking it up without a bottle is as useful as picking up a regen rune with full health and no bottle. It doesn't benefit you but more importantly, it doesn't benefit your enemy either.
A bottled portal key as powerful as a bottled regen rune. And even without a bottle, grabbing a portal key rune en-route to a fight or escape will instantly push you closer to or further from a teamfight/gank.
I would refrain from mentioning an unrelated idea in my thread though. This obviously has nothing to do with a "refresher rune" and should not be compared. If you want to denounce that idea, go to the appropriate thread for that.
Currently, Lego can buy hotbl and use an invis rune to do the same thing. So yea. I totally see how this is different from him getting an early invis rune.

I wouldn't mind a new rune in the game, and as far as i've seen this is the only viable suggestion so far.
It's completely worthless without a bottle. To the extent that it doesn't "feel right" at all.

Dont make it cast on right click. Change it to a specific hotkey, like g, or something. Then I like it--no, I LOVE IT!!
