How much money do your CoD4 players or Gears player make in a month? What is my earning potential exactly?

If you're just looking for a competitve team that's already proven, why are you posting a recruitment post on these forums instead of contacting one of the current top teams and offering to pay them to play for you.

I am really just curious to the economics of "professional" gaming and how much money you make/lose as the CEO of "vVv Gaming"

With a new title, there are no "proven" teams. Yes, one might anticipate that the bet DotA team will do well here, but we will wait. We also want to build a community of players in vVv gaming. The model that most organizations just "purchasing" the best teams has many flaws. Team can come and go, but community is lasting. Understand, no said that we won't also contact top teams. For now, we want to build a community of players. It is also about content. Good organizations know how to create content.

Well, as far as your economics question, it depends on the title and the geographic region. For example, this year so far, FNAtic's CS team brought in around $130,000 from their prize winnings, not counting product sponsorships. Gears of War 2 and Halo 3 for example, each has over $100,000 in cash prize amount this year.

eSports is still in its infancy. Many organizations and leagues have come and gone because of a failure in long term strategy. There was too much of the "make it, and they will come." philosophy. "Changing consumer behavior" is often a euphemism for failure, lol. Our model has resulted in explosive growth.

Keep in mind that eSports is always changing, and building good community is the best way to both lasting brand, and also attract good sponsors, which in turn makes for more attractive environment for top players.

As far as my personal financial contribution, I do not earn any money. This is a long term investment. We do not take players winnings, and we break even. Our model really delivers in site traffic, we get between 8-10 million hits a month generated by about 25,000 visits. I hope this helps you understand a little bit better.

it seems to me like you guys are more focused on other games then hon overall. i understand that you guys are trying to start up a division here, but then why was there no division in dota? dotas been on the Esport scene for a while now, and i dont see why you would jump onto hon if you skipped on dota.

Considering HoN has built in voice chat, not everyone stays in vent all the time due to voice echo from people using both etc etc
