    Dreamhack Summer $23,000 5v5 (June 19, 2010)

This summer, Heroes of Newerth will enter J?nk?ping, Sweden, as DreamHack Summer 2010 will be the home of no less than three tournaments.

The world's biggest LAN announced in Februray that a Heroes of Newerth tournament were to take place, with a dashing prize pool of 50,000 SEK ($6,268 USD). With today's announcement we find out that Sapphire and S2 Games have went in with an additional sum of 120,000 SEK ($15,044 USD) to raise the stakes.

The tournament will play out in regular DreamHack fashion: first a BYOC mode for the group stage to then transition over to a tournament area on tournament computers. Grand final will be played on the DreamArena Extreme stage.

As if this was not enough to attract the Heroes of Newerth fans, DreamHack will be offering two more tournaments included in the Digital Youth Awards. These two tournaments, one for Sweden and one for Germany, will send off the winners to Shanghai, China to participate in exhibition matches at the venue. The winning Swedish and German team are also autoberthed to DreamHack Winter 2010 for another large tournament.

DreamHack Summer 2010 opens its doors on June 19.

    Prize pool
    1. 50 000 SEK, 5 x SAPPHIRE HD5830 1GB GDDR5 PCIE
    2. 30 000 SEK, 5 x SAPPHIRE HD5770 1GB GDDR5 PCIE
    3. 15 000 SEK, 5 x PURE CrossFireX 790GX

I'd suggest that entire game required 1.8 billion dollars invested so far (quite realistic), which is 30k per hero, but this includes a lot more costs that hero development.
(btw, I develop games for about 4 years)

I fixed the title, to say 170K, since that is the total sum of the prizes, not 120k ^_^

Just a heads up to those interested, Honcast IS flying out to DreamHack and will do our very best to cover as much as possible. Not 100% sure yet on whether or not we are going to be able to shoutcast, but will keep everyone updated!
