    Devourer's Hook

Now, it's awesome that it can grab targets on the way to and from where you targeted, but the fact that it can't hit invis has really screwed me over quite a few times.

I'd love to see some pro invis hooks again.

Oh, let me clarify, even if they're revealed by a ward or an eye, they still can't be hooked.

    Please change it

Are you sure? I thought they fixed that when they fixed phase boots.

The hook can grab invis. Our keeper of the forest blocked numerous hooks(by accident, but still) in a game we played earlier tonight. With the changes to unitwalking I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't work on other invis heroes as well.

    works

it can't grab someone who activated phase boots. this is retarded.

Also, if you hook from a higher or lower platform, it won't bring them down or up.
This defeats the effectiveness of hooking from river, or above.

Oh, I guess I haven't had the opprotunity to hook invis since the patch that's fixed it has come out.

    Well, fix this then.

Also, if you hook from a higher or lower platform, it won't bring them down or up.

Im not one to complain, but Iv had 2 problems, when you hook across river, sometimes they fall off the ledge. and just run off, happens to me all the time. And the hook seems alittle shorter... some of the pro hooks come from that little bit of distance more i think, plz make hook a little longer? if anyone can agree with me!

I lost it when my mate was inside our base (Hellbourne) between mid & bottom when Pudge decides to hook him down the cliff and out of his base. My mate's character MOONWALKED UP THE CLIFF and backed off back to fountain.

    Pudge was all like,

    "One day, Billy Jean".

One of the problems with devourer is that in this version of the map the trees are much more plentiful, leaving it so the devourer can't simply pull people through the forests because they are so thick. I used to love being Pudge and pulling people through the forests in the top and bottom. Now it's almost impossible ;(

Runes of the Blight are your friends. The cliff problem is carried forward to trees as well tho.

I think they should make it so when you're invisible you aren't hit by the hook. Thinking logically if you are invisible an object would pass through you. Also, it would add a GREAT skill factor to the multiple invisibility using classes out there. I can see many people with great skill dodging hooks by using vanish or stalk at the precise moment to dodge the hook that would end them.

What do logic and invisibility have in common?

You wanna talk skill factor? Try hitting what you can't see.

Honestly, hitting invisible units is sheer luck and hope.

Already been confirmed over and over that it is possible to be hit during invisibility. I was responding to his suggestion by saying it takes more skill to hit what you can't see than it does to dodge hooks by pressing a button. How is this off-topic when the thread title is "Devourer's Hook" and the entire thread is related to using it; does it hit invisible units, what about up and down ledges, or trees, maybe it should, why doesn't it, etc.

Obviously you're right in some cases, but I think there's an element of skill when a player goes invisible and runs away and you manage to predict where he'll end up, thus catching him for the kill. Especially in juke spots or fog of war. This is what makes it so much fun that you can hit invisible units. Obivously blind-hooks are different.

I think you are confusing the word invisible with immaterial, incorporeal, and/or ethereal. Being invisible wouldn't let matter pass through you.

Depends on what you think of as invisible.

Invisible would mean you can still get hit, punched, and abide by all laws of physics except that due to whatever reason light does not reflect off you and the human ( or any other ) eye cannot perceive the image of the creature/person/object.
