Hi everyone! I am able to use both addons and custom textures, but when I tried creating some textures on my own it didn't work. I have read 2 different tutorials and I have followed the steps. I think the problem is something that happens when i create the resources.s2z file. I figured this out by trying to turn a working custom texture resources.s2z file to a .zip file and then I opened it, took the folder, made a new .zip file for the folder and changed .zip to .s2z. When I did this that custom texture did not work. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Here is a test file i made. It contains a simply edited texture for Demented Shaman. I deleted the one that didn't work, but i assume that this doesn't work either since I made it in the same way and I can't try it right now since the HoN server doesn't respond for some reason. If you want to you can open it and try to find what is wrong. Thanks alot!
Now i tested this file and it seems like it works, but it has a new problem instead. Instead of the hero having the custom texture it's just black and yellow. I have absolutely no idea how this happened. Are there any files missing or something like that?
I'm really sorry to bother you with more questions, but I have kept trying to get my custom textures to work, but something goes wrong every time.
First of all, I still can't get the simple ds texture to work. I tried downloading your file where the unessesary files were removed, but the problem where the hero turns yellow and black is still there... Did the file work for you?
I have done an easy test on a fully working texture made by warchamp7. What I did was take the heroes folder from his .s2z and created a new .s2z file for it. This resulted in that Hellbringer was completely removed from the hero list in-game. I have no idea how this could happen since i din't change any of the files inside the heroes folder.
Again, I'm really sorry to bother you with all my problems.
Try using this? http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/sh...d.php?t=118743
I'm not sure how the mac file structure works so it may be done differently. Haven't seen anything different and no MAC users complaining about it not working. The black/yellow is because it can't find the texture.
I *believe* it worked for me however I couldn't exactly tell what was changed so maybe I just wasn't accustomed to what DS actually looks like since mine is modded anyways.
Ok, I think it has something to do with the file structure of the .zip file, or something like that. Acctually, i'm not really used to working with .zip files on mac. I will keep trying to find a way to make my texture work. Your ds texture is really awesome btw. I'm definetly going to use it.
