Uhh, anybody knows who won ? I'm sorry as I'm unable to watch any VoDs at the moment.
And BTW how come FFF did a cast of the match on GR instead of playing in it ? OR is he budgi ?

GR casted a Replayand FFF said that he was not playing due to Budgi perhaps being a backup/6 th player for MSI
My Stream, where you can ask questions about anything HoN/HoN Tour related
HonTour Admin. PM with any questions.
Didn't realise that, I requested nicely that people leave the Neva tournament to our exclusive media partner. Oh well, guess respect doesn't count for much anymore.GR casted a Replay![]()
It also shows a little lack of respect to think that people shouldnt be able to cast replays? Why should people not be allowed to cast replays of matches?
If it was a small deal, I'm fairly sure people would of taken your 'request' lightly and nobody knew/forgot about it and didnt really care so much.
We want this game to grow, in order for it to grow then the game needs as much exposure as possible, if several orgas want to do coverage of online tournaments then they should be allowed to, unless S2 intervenes there is no way you can stop them either. Lets not go trying to make a monopoly, the game is being released very shortly and as an e-sport is in its infancy right now.
Honcast casted replays of the GR tournament
GR casts replays of the Honcast tournament
Personally I don't see why everyone can't all be in the same game, thankfully though - for the real big tournaments we will be having quite a lot of casters/companies working together and doing casts at the same time live - so the viewer gets as much of a choice as possible.
This will not turn into a GR vs Honcast thread - been far to many of them and its a dead topic.
My original questions to Vievi still stand though, if you wanna take it on IRC/Skype or what ever, gimme a message and we can do it there. But perhaps some of the other people want to hear your views on why monopolys are such a good idea for an young, growing e-sport.
Neva tournament is not HoN tournament, and since Veivi is the sponsor, I guess he has the right to choose which media partners he want to.
Arguing about this is like saying Comcast/Dish network still has the rights to broadcast games that DirectTV has already been contracted to.
Neva is a HoN tournament. It's a tournament based on a game, e-sports differs from real sports or 'TV networks' in real life.
An example would be Starcraft Pro games in Korea, the games get casted/live in 'arenas' by a certain organisation but, they don't own Starcraft and cannot stop anyone else from taking a replay or even the footage of the game (only) and overlaying their own audio/commentary.
I think you need to explain your point a little better iChao - if you even have one..
It's more the fact that I was outright ignored.
I requested that other casting networks wait 5 days after the event before doing it, if people want to ignore me on that - that's fine. I do not have to provide justification as to why, it just means I review running any future events past the invitationals - and possibly look at putting the two major events for next month we were planning, on hold.
Venum, I won't try explaining this to you, since you seem a bit orientated on the idea that this is monopolising the scenario, when this is certainly not the case.
I will not be further replying to this thread.
Respect or lack there of is the issue I believe. If the group running the show and funding the rewards requests something so simple as a bit of patience I don't see why people wouldn't just comply. I mean 5 days won't kill anyone.
Lol@vievi whining about people casting replays, when that's what got honcast started in the first place.
when you can't control your own product, well, why do business. it may not be a serious problem if it is limited to neva alone, but on the whole this casting business is just a mess. doesn't bode well for the future of this "industry"
If Vievi runs the tournament, he really ought to have control over its broadcast rights. It's possible GR didn't know Vievi didn't want them casting it, but if they simply ignored him, that's rather unprofessional.
All of that seems sensible enough from my point of view. I'm just a first-year college student so I guess that doesn't count for much.
But yeah, I can definitely understand GR wanting to cast the games, but as an organization, it's extremely bad practice to completely ignore the people organizing and paying for the event.
There's no reason to call that a monopoly at all. That's like how TV Shows are broadcasted on-air say on Wednesday, but then they don't hit the web (Hulu) until the next day.
GR is going to be the reason that S2 might start thinking about putting restrictions on replay downloading. Or certain ones at least. Have to have a password to download designated replays.
I don't mind GR casting our replays of the honcast tournament as long as there is a link to the tournament on the post.
I'm all about helping the hon community grow as a whole and GR is a big player in that. They're the second largest hon community site and we're all enjoying the ride with HoN together.
Although, it's Vievi's "NEVA" Tournament and he's definitely made it clear to other shoutcasting networks that he wants the coverage done by honcast. Replays are replays, and you can't hold anyone accountable to not cast the replays, but as Vievi made very clear, you can definitely bring it up.
Proud to be the first person to officially purchase Heroes of Newerth
Vievi would have a difficult time actually finding any reason for people to comply other than out of respect.
Don't think anyone can claim the rights to publically downloadable replays
I'm not a GR caster, but I had no idea that we'd been asked not to cast it until 5 days after the event. There's certainly nothing posted publicly on any of the forums. In any case, it seems a little unfair for Neva to ask that we don't cast it for 5 days given that no such request was made of Honcast with regard to the GR invitational.

The difference is that NEVA is putting up the money themselves for their tournament, whereas the GR tournaments were funded by S2. GR was simply the facilitator, and thus had no right to say who did what with the replays. On the other hand, since Vievi and NEVA are actually putting money into this, I think it makes sense to agree to his request. It isn't like he's asking a lot.
