1v1 Cup

So i want to organize a 1v1 cup.More info will be released later, but for now the rules:
1)Mode is All pick, each player can ban two heroes.The bans will be 1-2-1, Legion always banning first.Then at the picking phase, you will both agree to pick a hero at the same time, also before picking it write the name of the hero in teamchat for verification purposes if there will be any argue about someone picking 2 seconds later to try to counter(a screenshot will be needed).
2)You are limited and i mean it only to mid lane and neutrals.You can wander to other lanes BUT do not atack any creeps, even if a tower goes down.Any break of this rule means instant loss.
3)The games will be played on europe servers if one of the players is from EU, else you can play whatever.
4)Any break of the rules will be demonstrated with a screenshot
That's it for now, more info will come.I advise you to not post unnecesary commentaries.A reply should be posted if you have an opinion or if you want to join.
I want to see how many of you will be interested in this.So if you want to participate pls post.Also i may find another site host for this cup, because it's harder on a forum.

This is NOT a 1v1 game.

This is your opinion and of the majority sadly.But when you want to perfect your last hitting and lane control skills you play 1v1.For me, it's fun as hell.I'd rather play 1v1 than play 5v5 with some random pubbers.Or play with a clan, but in HoN didn't found a good one yet, hihihi.

PPl it's really simple, you can either join the tourney or don't. You, for no reason other than being an ass, tell other ppl this idea is shitty.

I can see 2 reasons why many ppl would want to play this

1.- They don't have a big amount of friends or good players to play with, might not even have 5 ppl to play with, so they are tired of pubs and want a high lv tourney (or as high as a 1vs1 can get cuz I agree that HoN/DotA is a team game)

2.- They would like to test their skills as individuals rather than as a team( This isn't a sound reason, except when combined with reason number 1)

So if you don't like this idea or see no benefit from it, just close this thread and keep on surfing.

Yes i thought of that.If they try to pick same hero, the game will be remaked with the same bans and the hero in cause automatically banned.I think it's a good compromise.Repeat this untill different heroes picked.
Ofc this whole cup thing will be a rather tedious thing, but we are playing in an organized "event" and winners will be anounced in this topic, if that's a decent motivation i hope.

This is NOT a 1v1 game.

No it isn't. However...

WoW is primarily a PvE, not PvP game, yet a lot of people on WoW play only PvP.

Hockey is a team sport, yet a lot of players compete in singles skills competitions. (Speed, accuracy, etc).

HoN and dota are team games, yet a lot of people enjoy testing their skills and playing in 1v1 tournaments.

Don't tell other people how to play or assume that your way is superior.

People do a lot of different things in life for a lot of different reasons.

Guys thanks for the support but really i am used to flames/curses and all of these things.Wtf i played dota, and by far the HoN community is more educated, mainly because the average age is above 18 if i'm correct.Ofc there are still a lot of flamers, but waaaay better than dota garena/bnet pubs.

The hero imbalances will be too great. The game will go LONG and any hero that scales well with gear is going to be a nightmare, assuming the instant win heros like defiler get banned.

Go ahead and pick a caster, I'm gonna pick jereziah. Go ahead and pick electrician, to counter my jerry, I'll pick any decent agi carry and get a difusal blade + warpcleft, or a nuker, or whatever else beats elect.

If you have someone pick first, he loses. If you randomize the hero picks, the winner will be based on luck. I know people like to play their own thing, but this is like playing pick the highest card, then sitting down and staring at your opponents higher card for 45 minutes while he beats you.

I think that's pretty accurate. The heroes counter each other in a rock, paper, scissors fashion. In a team of 5 you have to work together in order to cover each hero's weakness. In a 1on1 however you can't do that and most games would be decided by hero picks alone.

But go ahead, make your cup. I will watch and see if my prediction is correct.

Yet they added in an option for 1v1.

The game original was a team based game but if your playing a 1v1 with the same heroes, how does one not think that skills are not involved.

It all ends up on how to out smart one another. Unless of course one player is just on a totally different level and gets obliterated and demands a rematch. If players are going to just stick to saying its a team game, that's fine but to think that 1v1 are useless in general then they are stupid.

1 vs 1 need a dedicated mode (-om) or a dedicated 1 lane-Map.
Current duels are lame, as bot & Top lanes get pushed past a certain delay.
