Yes, this sounds awesome!
No, pwning heads is good enough for me.
If anyone ever used the mod DG Killshot in WoW, you know that that was a mod you could not live without from that day forward. I bring this up because both it, and DotA/HoN's kill messages, were inspired by UT's now famous kill sounds.
I am suggesting that each account should have a kill message that says whatever they like. Simple commands (like in DG killshot's interface) like "*t" for the target's name and "*p" for the player's name could be used to allow free reign in building your ideal kill statement.
Example: my message might say
*p just made *t have to retake geometry
Then, if I killed someone...I dunno, say Maliken (>_>), the message would be displayed as:
trapezoidal just made Maliken have to retake geometry
By using wildcard commands such as these, players would not be restricted to having their player name first, if they so chose. For example,
*t was having a wonderful day, until he ran into *p.
would read:
Maliken was having a wonderful day, until he ran into trapezoidal.
Let's face it, "pwning heads" all the time gets stale. However, if you like this, there should also be an option not to display custom messages. Of course, players would also be able to change their messages whenever they like. Things like Double Kill, Hat-trick, etc., as well as the streak indicators (serial killer, bloodbath, etc.) would be unchanged.
I feel like this change would add a TON of flavor to this already exciting game.
