Working with Java swing is pretty much the same as asking to be in hell. But I solved most of the problems I had faced. Do you have any suggestions to be made to the interface? (Alignment, Components Positions, Size etc)
I tested with the latest JRE avaliable and worked fine man. Please, post the log file (or attach) for I can check out what is the problem please (the file should be located in the same place of the .jar file, with the name 'HonModManager.log')
What do you think needs to be changed?
You should definitely use the file chooser instead of the textfield when you start the program for the first time.
You are already using one when you access the folder options in the preferences menu.
Anyway it is working under Ubuntu 10.04, except for one issue:
Mods with 'appversion="1.0"' in the mod.xml cannot be enabled.
I have got the following message when I tried to:
Mana Costs couldn't be enabled because it's incompatible with the current game version.
Not much more to say, so...great work SHiRKiT!![]()
Yes, you are right. I should fix that. Those 2 problems will be solved in the next version, just added to things To-Do. Those 2 will be fixed next version, and auto-update is already working, so when we release Alpha 0.5, you'll automatically download it =]
If anyone knwos how to make a post cool as the official ModManager one, please tell me. I failed completly triyng to do one like it.

How come 'Mod Options Framework' needs 'Mod Options Framework' to be enabled to be installed?
Scenario:
I tried to install 'Mod Options Framework' by adding the mod and enabling it.
Expected Behaviour:
The mod gets enabled.
Actual behaviour:
A message appears stating that the mod cannot be installed because it requires itself to be enabled.
Just quote the mod man post, delete the quote tags, change the text and contents and you have your good looking thread.![]()
When trying to apply mods, it throws out compatibility errors between mods that don't happen with the original modman. Talk to me on IRC whenever you see me on![]()
Been interesting to see the progress, can't wait for a stable release.![]()
Sorry, but I can't. I deleted the log in order to produce a cleaner version, but now it works. It seems I had to restart the ModManager. Since the bug still exists, here are my assumptions of how to reproduce this bug:
- Uninstall Modmanager (don't know what to delete)
- Install a fresh 0.4 alpha
- Install mod "Picklefish Stats" (probably optional)
- Add mod "True Skill Rating Mod"
- Enable mod "True Skill Rating Mod" (will fail because of "Mod Options Framework" not being enabled)
- Add mod "Mod Options Framework"
- Enable mod "Mod Options Framework" (will fail because of said bug)
If you tell me what I have to delete to completely clean the Modmanager from my system I can check myself.
edit: running a linux here.
You're very welcome. Thanks for the great program you've put up so far.
As I already stated I can't upload the log, because I deleted it in order to create a new, cleaner one. If you tell me what to delete to get a fresh and clean install, I'll try to reproduce the bug and give you the then-created log.

Just delete managerOptions.xml file inside the same folder of the .jar file.
No, something's wrong with that. When I only delete that file (and ~/.HoN/game/mods) I can enable TSR without having the framework mod even added: http://pastebin.com/GWT4jpmL
Probally was a graphical bug. I'm trying to fix all graphic bugs there is out there, it isn't easy for me =\ But deleting managerOptions.xml is the same as you never opened the ModManager
Released alpha 0.5, with these changes:
Code:0.5 alpha: - Fixed bug while trying to apply mods and saying they aren't compatible (and they were, examples in appversion=1 should accept version 1.*) - Added a popup menu when right clicking in the table - Fixed a few graphical bug while applying a new Look and Feel - Improved auto search for HoN and Mods folder - Updated Strings file - Fixed bug while trying to open Mod's Website (it was opening another's mod website) - Improved logging methods - Changed behavior on Manager first launch - Added auto-update 100% working and functional
