    [0.3.6B]Fayde's Burning Shadows targeting issue

    I rated this as Gameplay as the current mechanics of Fayde's Burning Shadows create some minor problems for her gameplay. This problem was stated a few times but were never brought into the suggestions so this is my call.

    The Problem:

    Fayde's Burning Shadows create shadows/illusion-type units which attack the hero which was hit by her spell. Those shadows are neither controlable nor you are ble to attack them. Yet you are able to target/select them (green circle)
    Those illusions often spawn on top or at least overlap with the hero (see Electritian). As these Illusions are friendly towards the caster they might prevent you to target enemy heroes with your autoattack aslong these illusions hang next to them and therefore it might reducing your damage and gank potential dramatically.


    The suggestion:
    In Warcraft 3 there was an modifier which was called "locust". This modifier was used in the spell "Locust Swarm". This modifier allowed to create units which are neither targetable nor controlable (also not visible on the minimap).
    This would solve the issue of targeting your prey after hitting them with "Burning Shadows" but would keep up the shadow attacking your foe with the given animation.


    tldr: Give the Burning Shadows a locust(-esque) modifier which makes them untargetable.

    definitely. the locust ability was how mapmakers in warcraft were able to do as many cool things as they did (in terms of abilities). these shadows should not be targetable and really serve no purpose other than art.

    the fixes to fayde haven't been patched yet. if this issue hasn't been fixed in the next version then you can say "i told you so"

    This problem was not removed in the recent patch notes, they are still targetable for no reason.

    And please state why you voted "no" if you decide to do so.

    i would def. say yes to this. anything spawning on top of another thing is kinda iffy as it is, and misclicks can def screw stuff up, this should be a nice fix

    I got a idea, Make the shadow a shadow. As in, In the ground. Have it stuck to there feet. That way i don't click on the damn thing when i'm trying to click on the enemy hero because its in teh way. Or make the shadow Non clickable, so clicking on the shadow will go through to w/e is behind it. aka player covered by shadow.

    dunno why they didnt use it for burning shadows..
