Hey guys
I've been playing HoN for a few weeks and really enjoy the game and I want to play it competitivly (play online leagues, cups, attend lans) planning on attending i40 (UK) for HoN.
Coming over from COD4, I was just wondering what types of games I should be playing to improve? Matchmaking? SD? AP? I get the idea of last-hitting and denying, just need to practice. Also, what roles/heroes can I take where if Im bad, I dont influence the game too much, in other words, I dont want the team to depend on me![]()
Also, should I watch replays, honcasts and try to pick up things or can I improve by only playing? Is practice mode actually useful for anything?
Im currently around 1550psr, with 110 games played and a k/d of around 0.7 (on my other account)
Any help is really appreciated <3 Sorry for all the questions![]()
Thanks![]()

Read my rough-draft guide here to help you with your picking skills and give you basic insight into team strategy.
Banning Draft is my favorite. Then Banning Pick. Then Single Draft. Then finally AP.
If you understand picking schemes and lane synergy, Single Draft will be OK...but I would recommend BP/BD.
Absolutely watch comp play and replays of high-level players.

Watching High Level replays brought me from a 1600 player to a 1750ish player. they are VERY important.
especially in Hero Picks
Plague rider is imo the best new hero pick
Okay, thanks for the help guys![]()
Where can I get high level replays from?![]()

or just stalk any of the high-PSR non-em players on the ladder.
