What items are you getting on this guy?
I used to think of him as a prime Nome's holder, since it solves his mana problems for good and the aura helps out his team so much, but with the increase in price, it's almost the same as Stormspirit, which is so nice on TB. No longer do you have to play the slow monkey with no CC, and it solves his mana problems just like Nome's did. Granted, you miss out on the aura, but an item that patches up his weaknesses so neatly like that...
And to get the obvious out of the way, TB is support and should always get :FlyingCourier: :WardOfSight:

are we sure frostwolf skull procs with his ult? i know it doesn't proc on all targets with his chain lightning.
Start off with bottle. Try to get mid solo.
Get normal boots. Do not upgrade.
Stormspirit.
Upgrade boots to boots of travel.
Staff of Master/Restoration stone --OR-- Kuldra's Sheepstick, depending on need.
End game.

This isn't hard to test, and yes, it does work. It's 5 single targeted spells. Same with SW and Vindi ults, hence why they're blocked by Nullstone. Frostwulf is still dumb, but yes, it does work.

Mana regen item of your choice (Nomes, Stormspirit, mana ring (i wouldnt recommend it unless you have Behemoth/Jera/Pebbles on your team, since it loses its worth for TB rather quickly))
After that i stack survivability items: Helm of the Black Legion -> Sacrificial Stone, Void Talisman, or Behemoth's Heart if im really fat. Puzzlebox and Barbed Armor are fantastic too, though barbed becomes a lot more useful once you have some more hp. Great counter to heroes like Predator who usually chew through you without any problem. Null Stone propably works too, i personally haven't built it very often but it DID get buffed considerably last patch.

stats -> bottle -> boots -> talisman exile -> stormspirit -> post haste
your blast of lightning does not reveal. its best play him as a sneaky monkey in the fog or just out of range, so movespeed is key to 'kite' the enemy team and abuse the fog/range advantage

nome's, tabcom, void talisman, powersupply, plated greaves then glowstone/puzzlebox/barbed/frostfield/totem
or
glowstone, frostwolfs rush, powersupply, armour boots, void talisman, puzzlebox/barbed/tabcom
or
possible glowstone, straight to puzzlebox and void talisman, tabcom if you need to counter any hero with a channelled ability or chronos
if you manage to get a bunch of farm early, getting a glowstone is the best idea. if it keeps up go for frostwolf, otherwise get a scarab and pick one of the others and keep the glowstone

Man i love this combo, and you can start building it right from early game, a sustainer and a glowstone are good allies.
The more assassin's shrouds, the more assassin you are.
its pretty expensive for such a small gain in damage.
imho void talisman and portal key are core in nearly every matchup. bracers if you farm bad, then the two above. if you farm good sacrificial stone and then the too above. you need to stay alive in clashes for as long as possible.
Stormspirit, Bottle, Portal Key, Frostwolf.
You become the initiator, and a damn good one at that. Get Shrunken/Void/Null as well depending on the lineup.
I wouldn't call it a remotely small gain in damage. 6 LR procs + 2 ults for 600 damage each. You could easily put an entire team down to less than half in a couple seconds. The problem is just that, if you did that, TB would be a slow, squishy bastard that's been taking all the farm all game and probably doesn't have the mana to use it to begin with. Just looking at maximizing damage, though, that build is very effective.
