Yes, its me, AGAIN. You are probably getting bored of the Maliken thing but here it is again. Copy pasted from my last thread ^_^
His farming got nerfed HUGELY, indirectly from the ancient stacking nerf. So did his carrying from Whispering Helm no longer stacking with Shieldbreaker. Imo his skills are fine but they need a little tweaking, so do his stat gains. My proposed changes:
*Fear does not cause units to run around wildly, instead it acts as a superior magic (goes through shrunken head) stun.
- It really annoys me when i cant click on the character im trying to kill when they are feared.
*Increase STR gain to 2.8.
- His AGI gain got nerfed by 0.4, while his STR gain got buffed by only 0.2. Makes up for this.
*Remove armour (yes im english) gain completely from Possesion.
- To compensate for the buffs about to come, also it really doesn't synergise with the Fear effect.
*Maliken's BAT is decreased to 1.55/1.5/1.45 while in Possessed form.
- Makes him more of a carry, back in the day I beat a Magebane late game with Maliken. Also, it is not as good as the old BAT decrease. It scales aswell so that he is not too powerful early / mid game.
*Increase cap of Hellbourne Zeal's attack speed passive buff to 150.
- Once again, to make him more of a carry.
*While in Possessed form, Maliken only splashes 30% damage in a 350 AOE.
- Once again, to compensate for the buffs.

EDIT: Many poeple are asking what BAT means: Base Attack Time, all heroes start with the same BAT except for Magebane, who's BAT is slightly lower and he therefore attacks quicker than other heroes. It basically increases his Attack Speed.

i dont necessarily agree with all your suggestions. i do fully agree it is a royal pain in the ass trying to target a hero that you just debuffed with fear. also sure make his fear debuff superior magic (it isnt already?) as well as increase his zeal and strength gain.
no idea what BAT is. his armor isnt especially useful since it only lasts 3 seconds after you applied your ultimate and fear has worn off of your enemies lowering to +0 at 5 seconds.
i personally think a neat change to maliken would be the ability to shed the possession before the time limit is up for survivability seeing as most items favor melee and not ranged. half effects and no effects examples being abussal skull shields and helm of the black legion. for the life of me i cant fathom why they made the shields favor melee heros, the lifesteal halfway makes sense. though you can argue thats not the way you play maliken thats a bad build why would you do that hes a carry hes not that kind of tanker. hes not always going to be the carry and he can tank damn good when hes not possessed form with the right items. the way i look at it you use possession for the fears effect at breaking channels getting in a few free hits and initiating in team fights. you might stay as possessed to chase down a fleeing hero but otherwise you use your ult for the fear debuff.

Maliken seems really weaksauce compared to how he used to be pre-nerf. These buffs make him better without making him overpowered, T-up.
i'm not a big fan of strength carries. they're carries that can tank, which is too deadly a combo (and what i hate about zephyr, even though he's an agility hero). but just to comment:
not sure about an aoe stun but the fear is definitely horrible. one of the great things about maliken is that he doesn't have a stun. i think it should stay that way. but yes, no fear please.
just because his agility was nerfed more than his strength was raised doesn't mean a mistake was made or anything needs to be fixed. they might've made it that way strictly to "fix" him.
definitely right about the armor (sorry, i'm not english lol). i suppose it's good against ranged heroes or heroes out of range of his fear effect, but then it's still kind of pointless. if fear is changed however (though not to a stun) then perhaps it would be helpful. depends on whatever it would be changed to.

definitely don't agree with increasing his zeal. the skill is incredibly amazing as it is. if you get attack speed with items, then combined with this skill you attack almost too fast. i've never really seen a problem with maliken not attacking fast enough and it sounds like a suggestion to just make him stronger, pointlessly.
the splash damage is cool. it has great synergy with his damage increase move and such, and considering he only has 1 AOE move, it's a pretty needed move. i don't mind the way it is right now.
i remember when i first started playing dota. it was the version where warlock (hellbringer) came out. though i didn't know it, all new heroes are too strong and are nerfed into being balanced. i was fantastic with warlock but once he got nerfed i was crap. it made me sadi'm not saying you're crap with maliken cause you're probably not, but i feel like you're trying to negate all the balancing he's gone through. my only real complaint is that fear and pointless armor
I'm not trying to buff him back up to God Mode, since the buffs I am proposing are not as potent as the nerfs he received, also I am nerfing him in some areas to balance out this buffing. The fact that he is nearly never seen in competitive play shows that he is a sub-par hero.
in my opinion, he isn't used in competitive gameplay because his concept is lacking. in most battles with maliken i've seen, he gets ignored as a target. attacking him is less advantageous than killing someone else. he doesn't have a stun and unless he has attack speed even his auto attacks are lacking. the more you try to kill him, the better he gets, so if anything that's motivation to not attack him. so everyone else on his team dies and then he either dies or has to use his sword to get away.
electrician, on the other hand, is a hero that can stun a person for 5 seconds, and it's channeling, forcing enemies to focus him. that's what makes him a tank. but maliken has 1 nuke and, like i said, can't dish out damage early game.
therefor, it isn't just maliken that isn't used. there are many carries that aren't used because a few of them can be effective early game as well as late game, or at least have a really nice way to farm their way to late game. buffing his stats isn't going to really help this problem i think.
I really like this idea. If he's balanced after this, it'd be perfect. Even if it doesn't make him balanced, it'd be a great idea with some tweaks.

I usually bought whispering helm from outpost, then started buildng steamboots back in stash. After that i went frostburn, later on i got riftshards ;D
The abyssalskull cant compensate for whispering helm, cuz when Maliken gets possesed his attack changes to ranged and the abyssalskull (as you all know)
Does NOT apply lifesteal to ranged attacks. This change ruined the whole way to play maliken :'(

IMO lifesteal early on Maliken is countersynergistic because you'll never get focused. So getting an AoM before the lifesteal can help you get into that range where you do sick dps
