the US has a better solution. our government created a synthetic country called the philippines with its populace designed to rage our kids out of games and off the internet. a pretty effective strategy if you ask me.

    I can't believe that.

I mean honestly, they should be free to play video games as much as they want.

I'm curious, how will they even go about banning these people from playing and "throttling" them? Will the tools necessary to do so be located in the games themselves? Or will they use IPs to track people playing the games and throttle them through their ISP?

I would think there would be ways around this like masking your IP with a blocking program or using a gaming account that was created in another country.

    What do you guys think?

It is up to the parents to keep kids from gaming to much. Not the gov.

I have to say, when the national government thinks it's citizens are playing too many games for too long then there might be a problem.

Let's examine the key words here: "playing" and "games." It's not like some form of societal contribution.

It's probably due to how people and/or people's children have died as a result of people not being able to keep a lid on their gaming addiction, which ends up looking embarrassing for South Korea.
