I have been watching and enjoying competitive hon for several months now. Its really nice to see the game as it was meant to be played.

That said, i do not really like to watch SG or Col play, because its almost a forgone conclusion that they will win vs their opponents, particularly in a best of three.

Sure they drop games here and there, but in a best of three, betting against either of these two teams is just a really really bad idea.

For a ton of reasons, they are clearly better than everyone else and that makes these games kinda NBA-ish (top seeds rarely lose), when ideally they could be more like the NCAA tourny where shocking upsets are fairly typical.

I do appreciate the hard work and skill that these teams have, but they do make watching competitive play a tad boring.

Maybe changes to the ban picking format would help, but i dunno, just seems they roflstomp other teams no matter which set of heros they use.

I did have one idea for a tourny which could be fun to watch.. You get to choose 1 hero for your team, and the other side chooses 4 of your heros, just to see how they would fair when the other team is doing everything they can to eliminate your synergies. And it would be damned nice to see games that had very few stuns :P

Just my take.

So, what's next? DreamHon Online Summer Championship 2013? Hontour Season 2?

After such a great tournament the cravings for another one are strong, and I would think my fellow viewers feel the same way!

S2, it would be great with a big tournament, a "filler-tournament", an announcement or even a hint of what's coming up in the near future!

but the one thing that I feel bummed me out was that you didn't include the crowds reaction. It was a huge bummer and honestly ruined the feel of the hype of a grand finals. For people who havent experienced the live crowd reactions look up a play by H4nni where he gets a huge behe ult off where the crowd goes nuts.

(Major difference watching a play like at 1:25 with the crowds reaction)
Other than that I feel like you've stepped up big time and its nice to see that you've taken that step. Now people can see why I love this game.

Hi folks,

so, with DHS over, I'd like to share some thoughts about recent sG results and stuff.

First of all, I'd like to start with mentioning that Khezu has impressed me the most. In every game they played, he was solid, stable, made close to none mistakes, always was able to find farm here and there and his War Beast was the reason they won few games. His Wildsoul still impressive too. This 17 year old deserves a lot of credit - when I watch his stream, he is calmed, mannered and always in touch with community. Props to Khezu, imo main reason that sG won.

Secondly, slickz and Chessie - before DHS, they were ALWAYS on top of the game, always playing flawlessly and always big reason why sG was managing to win. At DHS, it didn't happened. Sure, both of them had their moments and bigplays, but usually Chessie was able to position himself better and make clutch plays. Still, they are GOD TIER players, so even with those mistakes they made, they still were amazing and did their job just fine. I'm not flaming them or anything, I'm just saying that we get used to see Slickz and Chessie make bigplays and it was a little bit odd to see them failing this time (Slickz has died A LOT, he got firstblooded few games in a row and his Tort was decent at most. Luckily, with other heroes (like Pebbles) he did okay.).

Zfreek - IMO best support. vdT's player named Support is only good with Empath, Fittske was choking a bit, Peterpandam... ye, good too, but those Zfreek plays. Man, oh, man. That aluna escape in WB finals against coL gave me goosebumps!

Swindle - I am sure that he won't admit it, but he was throwing a bit. He got picked off few times and while some may say it was bait, I think it was him just being unaware of some stuff. Again, stayGreen has one of the best synergies we ever seen, so they always managed to turn this out on their favor, but it still makes me wonder, what would've happen if swindle wasn't dying first all the time? On the other hand, he is an initator, he has to go in, cast spells and his job is done. With picks he didn't disappoint me and did very well.

Moving on - they lost their 52-win streak. They were choking, they got beated heavily by vdT, coL and sG.eu. But they came back and proved how strong they can be. This turnaround in game 1 against sG.eu was one of the finest things in HoN and they deserved it.
Now they are titled with another crown, they are considered by many (me involved) as the best team in HoN ever. But I'm curious, what is next going to happen?
Will they join forces in stayGreen MIAMI HOUSE again and practice before future events? Or will they take a short break and wait for another season of HoN Tour, while keeping communtiy entertained with streams in the meantime?

In conclusion, I'd just like to say: Thank you for entertainment and a lot of emotions. I got attached to them and I seriously love those guys, their plays, their attitude. And I wish them the very best of luck in any future endeavours.

#stayGreen.

PS: Khezu MVP of the whole tournament.

Hello Ladies and Gentleman,

I just wrapped up the coverage of the DreamHack Summer 2013. The liveblog had it's final entry, more than 40 pictures of the last couple of hours are added, the winning news is published and in the spirit of Swindle's NBA/Jordan reference - I hung them a banner at the coverage site ;)

Check it out, check the albums, check the videos, check everything here : http://www.gosugamers.net/events/125...ummer-hon-2013

And please, just like Beef and nfgDan/Mangy did earlier, leave feedback about the coverage.

The live coverage from the event is over, but one or two articles/interviews as a DreamHack afterthought will get released/will be made in the near future. I am eyeing for a written interview with MiTH.s2y and then probably some other guy - Milkfat maybe?!?!?!?! ;)

So long <3

So... its all tied up on G3 and coL has FIRST PICK... this is not a flame.. but i just wish that coL reads this and gives me their feed back.

So...

So... its all tied up on G3 and coL has FIRST PICK... this is not a flame.. but i just wish that coL reads this and gives me their feed back.

So coL has first pick and in G1 AND G2 wildsoul has SHITSTOMPED the games... literally main cause of winning behind the supporting team, and hear was how you coulda remedied the fail of the draft...

1. this is DREAMHACK.. NO ONE IS EVER hyper agressive.. especially in G3.. so if your first pick, and wildsoul goes through the blind bans.. WHY IN THE HELL WOULD U NOT Pick WILDOSUL if you just got BLOODBATH on him with tralf??? Ask yourself honestly is wildsoul worth possibly 2 heroes of SG's choice? HELL YES IT IS! You cannot truly be that paranoid of them locking oph / warbeast in return of your wildsoul, especially if you can run Tempest / Parasite in response since SG bans SCOUT / LODESTONE as blind bans...

Any way, you can also freely pick gauntlet if you wish aswell from all pool as 3rd hero pick and have an EXTREMELY easy kongor in response to a midgame winning teamfight, aswell as adequate lockdown to warbeast / tempest / ophelia or whoever they wish to run, with his ulti... You similiarly woulda kept their midlane, be it pebbles or whoever at <200 gpm as you did that game OR EVEN LESS with a parasite had you chosen that route.

The key to winnning that game is to just have a STRONG early game nuke / counter push with wildsoul.. thats it... period and u win. You could choose from Torturer, Magmus, Pebbles, Gauntlet, pharoah (had they gone WB tempest or OPH / Temp (though in this case para would be a great pick)), Bubbles, or Honestly anything.

For my final Point, I would just like to state that the point that 1) "Wildsoul on legion is not a valid option" is unreasonable as SG did it G1, and tralf plays one of the best wildsouls, knows the build, etc just great. and 2) locking wildsoul does not Literally grant sG a GOD combo, if you do not provide the necessary heroes for them, for example your first lock pick would be a suicide hero, such as bubbles, pharoah or possibly a troll pick that you might play such as guantlet (which would be great).

sG seeing Gauntlet SHOULD not put 2 following GREAT heroes in the pool, as they are unsure if your setting up a troll pool on them or something else, so they might follow with rally / engi / or some other picks but i doubt they would place an ophelia / tempest or something else, seeing as their fear of your first pick power. Then you do YOUR subsequent 2 picks as another suicide (pharoah, bubbles, etc.) + WIldsoul, LEAVING THEM to REACT with your WILDSOUL lock with ONLY 1 LOCK! HOWEVER, if they DO lock 2 god tier heroes after your gauntlet or oddball lock that only benefits you, you Can lock ANOTHER GOD TIER + wildsoul, so that even though u are first pick, bOTH OF YOU get 2 GOD TIERS, (they get their 2, you get your two) AND you get wildsoul. Then you go into the core pool with standard bans trying to prevent them countering your picks and countering their strengths, AND a FIRST PICK from the core pool!

(possible good first picks from CP can be bubbles, possibly countering Tempest and WB, pebbles if unbanned (Strong early nukers + wildsoul buys time for mock which = GG, MOA which is great protection for midgame (helping WS go to late), TORTURER which would be one of my favorite first picks, or any other defenvise picks that are push competent)

I hope you read this because it is not flame it is honestly a GREAT strategy for your banning picks, I play chess, and a drafter myself, and understand banning and picking very well. Please just consider this strategy, i am not a Great player due to my lack of decent mechanical skills, but i believe my drafting and understanding of the game is very high.

Imagine a wildsoul in G3 of dreamhack, after it has been proven to OWN every game in that series... i just wonder why u didnt just lock him when you firstpick, after they LUCKILY gave you wildsoul G2 by not banning it in the banning phase after everyone knew its power from G1...

coL is my favorite team. ever. just please read this fully and dont disregard
