Before I start to say something about the hero Gemini, I want to introduce myself to the reader. I think it is not a bad idea to know the author of a guide to get a feeling about his experience and gaming knowledge. It generates a better view and whether to trust the **** the ... uhm ... "things" he wants to teach others. Hence I want to introduce myself and I want to give some information about the navigation (color scheme, my selfmade "navigation bar" [nav'bar], layout, style, etc.). If you want to proceed to the guide itself, then feel free to skip to the next chapter.

My Name is R*** C*** or just "AreZee". My sub account is called "TwiggX" due to a lesser known female model from Sweden (fyi: http://twiggx.deviantart.com/). I really like art and it is a big hobby of mine, although I'm colorblind (a rather strange form of protanomaly).

I started to play dota way back in 2005 and was hooked to the genre right from the beginning. The huge data about game mechanics, wc3 engine limitations, gameplay, etc. was so fascinating for my mind that I never wanted to play anything different again. When I heard about Heroes of Newerth in the early months of 2009 I wanted to take part in the beta.

A friend of mine got a key for the beta time of HoN and gave it to me, because he was more into RTS games back then. With the intention to support this game and S2 on its way to glory, I bought my golden shield and gave myself the status: "proud supporter of S2"

In the good old DotA days I was a huge fan of Geomancer (90% of all my -ap games). For those of you who do not know this DotA hero: He has an ultimate that gives him an (almost) exact clone of his main unit, upgradable to a maximum of 4 clones. Really good geomancer players - and I was hardly one of them - could 1vs5 a whole team, especially in the lower brackets of the dota-league.com SIG matches (let's call it "usermade matchmaking service").

Since then I have played more than 4000 HoN matches and right as Gemini was released I thought: "I ... want ... to ... harness the power ... of this god!"
~ fun fact: he was indeed a godlike hero on release, due to his "split form-stat-exploit" ... damn, the good ol' days ...

I played 700+ games with Gemini and I think I'm more than able to write a guide for this hero. So enjoy the reading and let me know when you don't agree with certain aspects of this guide! All constructive criticism is welcome!

~ About the guide ~


This guide will cover my style of play, i.e. I'm a solo queue player. I don't play much HoN with friends, whether in-game or RL friends, because it's more fun for me to play with completely random people than with a team. Please keep that in mind when you read the guide. I'm a very social guy, don't worry! I just don't want to have 1-4 "friends" in a game with me that can not compete against others on 1800+ rating. I would rather play 1700+ solo queue instead.

I think everyone can master Gemini. If you fail with him in your first games, don't give up! It is a learning process and you will master him. My intention is to update this guide on a regular basis. Hence I want to provide a good navigation feature for the reader. To get you started with this feature I will call it "nav'bar" for convenience matters. The nav'bar will provide a simple "back-to-Table-of-Contents"-solution.

I tried to implement a layout and a color scheme. Here are my thoughts about them:
