Hello everyone.
I Just wanted to post this guide so you could try it out and tell me how it worked out for you. :)

https://www.heroesofnewerth.com/guides/view/311435

Please note, i did not make this guide believing Rhapsody is a true hardcarry, i just thought of a way this can work and tried it out. And i loved it.
i know there are other heroes that highly likely do the job better, but sometimes you just wanna do something different and new.

So don't start to lecture me about how im an idiot for doing this when hero A to Z can do the job so much better, afterall this is a game.
And games are supposed to be for fun and entertainment.

So tell me, what do you think? did you like the Carry Rhapsody playstyle? would you do something different than what i have?

Anyways have fun trying it out. :)

Sincearly, McBruce.

- Introduction
This guide will not contain any redundant information which means anything you can find in the herodex and self-evident, non-descriptive things you already know like ''you should win the rune war'', ''you should gank if you get X/Y runes in situations Z/C/V'', ''you need good positioning'' and so on. If you wonder anything, ask me. This gudie is the compiled insight of around 700 and growing number of games playing Corrupted Disciple.

Have fun and FEEL THE BUUUURN!!!

- Hero Summary
Corrupted Disciple is one of the game's most definitive snowballers. He not only obviously looks to get as many kills as early as possible like any hero ideally wants but absolutely needs kills as early as possible because of heavy item dependence that he doesn't have the farming power, any good synergy with farming items or late game carry ability to make up for. Don't make the mistake of picking this hero to fulfill a hard carry, farming role as conduit's ease of removing and mitigating through various soft and hard counters means that the hero only dominates against enemies who lack a proper countermeasure against him, much like other snowballers such as Doctor Repulsor and Devourer, and without conduit there are countless better suited hard carries than a 475 range hero with some extra movement speed and a couple bread and butter damage abilities.

So why pick CD? Honestly - if you want to challenge yourself. It's a very unforgiving hero, but that's what makes him so rewarding. There basically is no situation in which another pick wouldn't be safer and the hero lacks pretty much everything players look for in a hero - utility, strong laning, versatility, farming, burst, hard carrying, team independence - you name it, the hero can't even quickly reposition itself.

- Skill Build
Get W on level 1 and 3, then max Q, getting ultimate as usual. Don't take a single point in E until you've maxed Q and W.

- Item Builds

Safe Disciple
:duckboots::duckboots::duckboots::minortotem::rune softheblight:>:bottle::steamboots2:>:energizer::wh isperinghelm:>:elderparasite: OR :shrunkenhead:

---

The reason why I make steams over other boots is because 1) they crucially let you survive many heroes' combos at that point of the game and 2) the attack speed scales better with your hero than the increased damage, especially in situations when you have to take down several targets quickly rather than chasing an isolated target down (and in this regard it can help too, you just need to make more stops to attack than with ghost marchers). This is a combination that other boots don't match. Switch them to agility when you aren't being focused to further outclass ghost marchers in combat.

Best Luxuries
:genjuro::symbolofrage::riftshards:

- Hero Matchups
Every single matchup will not be covered, these are examples and notorities. You can figure out on your own that Blood Hunter is weak to conduit but can surprise-kill you with some help and level 6 or that Succubus is a strong mid and getting ultied by her sucks. Even what I've listed is to some degree superfluous, but I have to cover something.

Easy Mode
:souls: :dead: :lord: :pebb: :damp:
The one thing that these and similar heroes all have in common is in short that they're conduit food, both in lane and when contesting runes. The first couple of levels will revolve around manipulating the creep wave into a favourable position and harassing, then at level 3 you go for the kill as soon as you get a good opportunity. This is more difficult against ranged heroes but still very possible, you just need to let them get themselves into the same kind of position a melee that you'd kill would get into - which means diving your side of the river as far back as possible for creep kills. A favourite of mine is to pull the enemy wave into my tower, stand a bit behind and to the side of the wave and then when I notice him going in for a ck I'll conduit just as it's mentally ''too late'' to back off from the ck, sealing his doom.

Hard Mode
:elec: :jere: :mona: :accu: Pearl
It's not only that they can purge conduit, they are also a defensive insurance against snowballing which is what CD lives to do - offensive insurances that can theoretically nuke you to death either by themselves or with just another nuke/disable such as Pyromancer, Deadwood etc. can typically be played around without needing major team help. These guys don't give you that opportunity. You can argue that if you just don't use conduit then they also can't use their purges, but who's gaining the most from that deal? you're going to need your team to take these heroes out for you.

:arac:
She's going to out-ck and out-rune you. The reason why she's here and not under AFK Mode is that while she's going to win the lane, can purge conduit off herself and can cripple you & save allies from conduit with spiderling and Q, this is all stuff you can mitigate - even losing the lane is avoidable if your team can kill her early for you while if she's saving W and R for conduit, she's obviously not using them for other duties. To qualify for AFK Mode people would have to build nullfire blade on her, but since no one's going to do so instead of going for their cookie cutter build it's not a problem.

:pred:
In short, Predator will eat you alive without having to fear something like getting caught by conduit if he doesn't catch you in his initiation or uses his mobility skill to reach you - he can dive bomb you with a massive 5 second slow that he can use again 5 seconds after it wears off, he's faster than you, he kills you in a few seconds especially so with a mid-game build like EP+Insanitarius and prevents you from using conduit on him while simultaneously protecting himself against your allies for a long enough duration to make it pointless to classify it as being ''baitable'' like with a one-time purge. The consolation is that you don't see him mid, he has no disables or burst and he can't take conduit off allies.

Anything with a soft counter to conduit such as invisibility or a leap that also outmatches you in lane, such as Scout, Chronos, Magebane, The Dark Lady, Revenant, Madman, Tremble, Swiftblade etc. is also hard mode, but it takes a special kind of outmatching to rise from here to AFK Mode.

AFK Mode
:noma:
From level 1, he with hatchet and wanderer does 72% more damage to creeps than you do which at level 1 means ~95 autodamage against your 56. At level 2, he can instantly break your conduit and harass you by doing it. At level 3 or 4, he can break your conduit twice and run away from it faster if you've somehow managed to afford a ward of revelation. At level 6, you can't use your ultimate if there's a risk that it starts targeting Nomad because he gets a guaranteed R on you. Oh, and you're going to need wards of revelation at the rune spot you want to contest too from level 3+ or he's going to not only beat you there with superior movement speed and most likely having marchers faster, he's also going to simply break conduit with an ability and rape you.

Rally
High last hitting damage coupled with hatchet and a way to immediately break conduit. You're not going anywhere with this guy, but at least you can rune control against him... unless he uses Q to catch the rune, bonus points if it's a haste or invis rune that not only lets him avoid taking more damage from conduit but breaks it too. Then at level 6 he can nearly take you out by himself and if he has any support, you're done for - no way to see this coming with certain combinations such as Aluna/Glacius/Hag/Bubbles/etc. These together are what puts Rally in AFK Mode instead of Hard Mode.

:para:
This hero is the worst in the game for you to face. Not only can this guy steal your conduit and swap your own debuff back on you if you use it on him, bonus points for also being able to break it off himself with W and make anyone able to run away from it with Q, he's also able to absolutely demolish you in lane because of rune controlling for his mid no matter which jungle he goes to, he can gank you for his mid, even if he doesn't use R to steal your conduit he can prevent you from using it with its silence instead, he can build any item required to take you out and there is absolutely nothing you can do about any of this - this hero is your #1 hard counter. Imo one of the game's most overpowered heroes, but probably won't be nerfed until we, mark my words, start seeing him more on honcast. Don't pick CD if you see this hero on the enemy team unless you want to lose.

:pupp:
Can not only drastically shorten conduit by casting Q on you, he can turn it against you with W alone potentially making you kill your own allies - bonus points if he does this and his ally then purges conduit off you. He also has more last hitting damage than you, and 600 range. This would be bad but not a disaster, however, when you take into account that he can make you kill yourself too by simply casting R and then W on you after you've used conduit...
