The past couple weeks have been long and tough, but we've finally made it to the ECO-League HoN Tournament Finals. Up for grabs is $500 in cold hard cash.

Fighting head to head in the Finals match will be:

This is a Best of 3(BO3) series and for all the match coverage the matches will be casted, courtesy of HONCAST.com. Expect nothing but the best between these two top teams and I wish them both luck!

Yes, we already have the website setup for us to implement a league whenever we choose. We actually have the league all setup, but we have hidden the division from users because we're focusing on this tournament first.

At the end of the tournament, we will most likely be announcing a date on when everyone should expect to be able to sign up for the league. The league will run 8-9 weeks with 2 matches per week for each team signed up.

I'll give out more details as things progress but right now we're focusing on making things go as smooth as possible.

Quick question about backdooring rules

"You MUST enter the base with creep support unless there is a base tower in deny range. Once the deniable tower has been destroyed, no further damage may be done to the enemy base towers or barracks. As long as there were creeps in base when you entered, you are allowed to keep attacking even if they die. If you leave the base at this moment you need to have new creeps in the next attack.

Creep Support : The creeps are within 600 Range of tower."

How the hell you calculate that or is the ground rule that once you're in base you can't take out all the towers and raxes but must push each lane individually?

As far as teams using ringers - this is to prevent an unfair advantage and keep integrity throughout the tournament and our league.

As far as the IRC rules go, it's one of the primary forms of contact we use. While we do have a messaging system, it sometimes takes awhile for users to respond, if they have even seen it. Having an IRC channel will help fix this issue by being accessible all day.

Ah, I forgot to edit that out. I've talked with Hunter and realized that although our program would have no negative affect on the users ability to play the game normally, we won't be using it due to S2 using server-client protocol.

No you are correct, but there are quite a bit of teams very close to 5 players. The league is hard-coded to automatically lock once 32 teams of 5 have registered so no more teams can be made. All teams without 5 on their roster at that time will be deactivated and pruned from the league.

Major Update

I have started assigning teams to a division to guarantee those teams a spot in the tournament. So far 14 teams have solidified a spot in the tournament.

Matches must be played by 10pm EST. If your team is from Europe and you are scheduled against a team from the US or vice versa, please notify me as soon as possible. Brackets will be released the morning of April 12 AT THE LATEST. If the tournament is filled before that, obviously we will release the bracket before then.

With the introduction for our HoN Kick Off Tournament we are also introducing a great lineup of prizes to the top 3 performing teams provided by S2 Games, the prizes are as follows.

I was able to get ahold of eco admins in both their irc channel and through the email addresses provided on the website, although the only person I think you could reach 24/7 is vievi (via every hon related channel on irc).


With that being said I think the seedings were random, although for the most part the first round looks to be a actual team with 1700, 1800+ psr players set against sub 1500 psr players. Since most teams got this break, it is a bit lame for you and rawr, who both got first round games against two of the top teams here.


But I guess that's just luck for you. I am expecting great things from eco. North american hon teams could really use some organization to bring them together and to generate matches during the week, and I think that's what this league hopes to accomplish after the kick-off tourney is over.

Admin, please check the match communication between our teams and see that I had sent a match request yesterday with no response from their side. Just so you know, this TLShadow completely refused to respond to my match requests in game and on site for a previous tournament and somehow convinced the league staff to give them the forfeit win. I am hopeful that this tournament will be better supervised.

If your opponent is refusing to talk to you, then you will receive a FFW.

We try to make scheduling flexible as possible. Giving you the chance to schedule it yourselves so you don't have to miss work, school, or an important event.

I do not understand how we are impossible to contact. We all idle our irc channel (#eco-league @gamesurge) and have a support ventrilo. (vent.eco-league.com PORT 4850) I am personally in the Ventrilo 15+ hours a day and answer all irc queries ASAP.

What corrupt admins ordeal? ECO-league is spawned off of all the admins who were taken by complete surprise when CAL died. 99% of our admins are CAL admins with more Admin experience than any other league in the world.

As the seeding goes. What about it is terrible? You want an easier opponent? Harder?

This is something we are working out for future tournaments and leagues. I can assure everyone that despite a few mistakes on our end and issues we didn't account for, we are going to be making great strides to make sure those same problems do not happen again.

I apologize for any teams that had issues scheduling matches and teams that were paired against teams with complete opposite time zones. We did a random seeding and it was something we knew we needed to account for, but we failed to capitalize on it early on. This lead to conflicting schedule problems and in turn some teams were not able to play their matches at the correct time. I did my best to answer any emails I received while on the road(I was driving across the country) and apologize if I was unable to respond to anyone.

However, today is a new day and more matches will be played tonight. I will make it my duty to be available to anyone who has an issue with the tournament tonight. A couple admins will be available as well who will help out with the tournament throughout the remainder.

You must play a tiebreaker match to decide who wins round 2. This match must be played before Sunday @ 12:00 Midnight EST um we got this message so we scheduled to replay ddt at 9 last night, which they agreed to in match communicator. But then they showed up and wouldn't play us...

Is this a forfeit win for DRD? Or can we have a match extension and tell them to please play us monday night?

As far as I know, we were cleared on that because they're removing that rule. I'm not 100% on the details, but that's what I was told.

Our final decision is that there will be no rematch, the rule never should of existed in the first place (it was an oversight) and resulted in zero advantage for the opposing team.
