In Dota you could only have 1 attack modifier on a character at a time. In HoN however you can have as many as you want which is turning people into unstoppable machines.
I would like to suggest an item that you could buy that would prevent life being leeched from you. The item should be fairly expensive like 1200-1500g so everyone on your team would have to buy it to prevent 1 guy killing your entire team because he has life steal.
If that wont work i would suggest limiting how many attack modifiers you can have on a character to 2 because on a character like magebane lets say if you have life steal, mana burn, basher for stuns and then a frostburn to slow you you might as well all rage quit because all 5 of you wont be able to touch him.
I find right now that the game is about 1 guy being over geared (carry) and alot less of teamwork. I played a game recently and we were winning the game 30-8 at 1 point, we ganked Chronos 5x in the Forrest. Well we hit about level 20 and he came out of the bushes and killed us all because of life steal. He never helped his team once all game he was hanging them out to dry and he farmed like he was playing Farmville between the ganks we had on him. Luckily my team had a brain and we conceded after he slottered us 5v1 and we ended up losing the game with 27 more kills than them.
To sum it up basically hiding in the bushes all game not helping your teammates out and letting your base get destroyed shouldn't be part of a winning strategy. There was no team play by the other team and they were rewarded because of a broken character and life steal making him unstoppable.
