Attack Range: 525

Base Damage: 41 ? 56

Base Armor: 2

Lacertus has always felt more at home in the wild, honing his skills amongst the deadly creatures living in the Scar, he has spent years training with his twin axes Laceration & Decapitation quelling Beasts and Daemons alike without care nor concern. Lacertus however, has been keen to notice a change in Newerth, and the stirring of the Hellbourne flooding from the pit where Grimm once stood laughing in his daemonic glee.

Even a solitary warrior such as Lacertus knew he could no longer stand ideally by as the New Legion fought tooth and nail to subdue the Hellbourne. Hearing of the great battles being fought in the Forests of Caldavar, Lacertus once again takes up arms and is now seeking out King Jeraziah in hopes of joining the New Legion and showing those Scouts a thing or two
about what makes a real man...

Ferocious Axe?s ? Hotkey: [Q]
Lacertus hurls his twin axes Laceration and Decapitation outward with tremendous fervor anticipating the coming bloodshed. Both axes intersect and return to Lacertus, when the axes return they invigorate him granting increased attack speed and damage for every enemy sundered. The axes cannot damage a single enemy more than once on each pass.

Level 1: Each axe causes 70 physical damage. Upon returning to Lacertus his axes bestow a hunger for more bloodshed granting Lacertus 2% increased attack speed and a bonus 4 damage for each enemy struck. (Bloodhunger will cap out at +12% IAS & +24 damage)

Level 2: Each axe causes 100 physical damage. Upon returning to Lacertus his axes bestow a hunger for more bloodshed granting Lacertus 2% increased attack speed and a bonus 4 damage for each enemy struck. (Bloodhunger will cap out at +18% IAS & +36 damage)

Level 3: Each axe causes 130 physical damage. Upon returning to Lacertus his axes bestow a hunger for more bloodshed granting Lacertus 2% increased attack speed and a bonus 4 damage for each enemy struck. (Bloodhunger will cap out at +24% IAS & +48 damage)

Level 4: Each axe causes 160 physical damage. Upon returning to Lacertus his axes bestow a hunger for more bloodshed granting Lacertus 2% increased attack speed and a bonus 4 damage for each enemy struck. (Bloodhunger will cap out at +30% IAS & +60 damage)

Type: Point Target
Range: 600/700/800/900
Cast Time: Instant
Mana Cost: 90/100/110/120
Cool down: 15 seconds
Self Buff: Bloodhunger: lasts 6 seconds.

*Notes*Ferocious Axe?s functions similarly too Nymphora?s Zeal applying the Bloodhunger buff when his axe?s return. At level 1 the buff factors in a maximum of 6 units. Increasing to 9, 12, and 15 with each level. I feel that a max of 2% IAS(Increased Attack Speed) per unit is solid, yet not game breaking. Especially when we consider that Nymphora?s Zeal has a cool down of 13 seconds, lasts 8 seconds and increases attack speed by 5/10/15/20 at a max of 10 charges.
I have also considered that perhaps +60 damage would be too much for level 4 Ferocious Axe?s. Perhaps it may be toned down to +3 damage per charge which would work out to +18/27/36/45 damage. With more tinkering I may also consider changing the IAS buff to a static AS(Attack Speed) #. Perhaps 5 AS per unit struck. IE Level 1: 5*6 = 30 AS. Level 2: 5*9 = 45 AS. Level 3: 5*12 = 60 AS. & Level 4: 5*15 = 75 AS.

Lacertu?s next ability is actually two abilities in one. Think Maliken?s Sword of the Damned, or Soulstealer?s Demon Hand. When this ability is learnt two separate icons will be given. - DECAPITATION & LACERATION!

Decapitation ? Hotkey: [W]
Lacertus throws his mighty axe Decapitation with immense force causing damage to a single target disemboweling them and passing onto other targets, the strike is so great that the targets armor is sundered lowering their armor. Each consecutive target will receive less damage than the previous.

Level 1: Decapitation causes 120 physical damage to the first target it encounters; each target struck will take 13% less damage, and lowering the armor of each target by 2. Decapitation has a maximum range of 800.

Level 2: Decapitation causes 165 physical damage to the first target it encounters; each target struck will take 12% less damage, and lowering the armor of each target by 3. Decapitation has a maximum range of 900.

Level 3: Decapitation causes 210 physical damage to the first target it encounters; each target struck will take 11% less damage, and lowering the armor of each target by 4. Decapitation has a maximum range of 1,000.

Level 4: Decapitation causes 255 physical damage to the first target it encounters; each target struck will take 10% less damage, and lowering the armor of each target by 5. Decapitation has a maximum range of 1,100.

Type: Point Target
Range: 800/900/1,000/1,100
Cast Time: Instant
Mana Cost: 85/95/105/115
Cool down: 10 seconds (Shares a cool down with Laceration)
Enemy Buff: Sundered Armor: Lasts for 6 seconds.

Laceration - Hotkey: [E]
Lacertus hurls his axe Laceration at a single target ripping and tearing their flesh open causing them to bleed and move more slowly for a short time.

Level 1: Laceration causes a target to bleed taking 10 magic damage every 3 seconds over 15 seconds and move 7% slower for 6 seconds.

Level 2: Laceration causes a target to bleed taking 20 magic damage every 3 seconds over 15 seconds and move 14% slower for 6 seconds.

Level 3: Laceration causes a target to bleed taking 30 magic damage every 3 seconds over 15 seconds and move 21% slower for 6 seconds.

Level 4: Laceration causes a target to bleed taking 40 magic damage every 3 seconds over 15 seconds and move 28% slower for 6 seconds.

Type: Point Target
Range: 675
Cast Time: Instant
Mana Cost: 75/80/85/95
Cool down: 10 seconds (Shares a cool down with Decapitation)
De-Buff: Laceration: Slows MS and causes DoT.

*Notes* I feel these two abilities grant Lacertus two very different options in controlling a target or weakening a target by lowering their armor.
Decapitation & Laceration share good synergy with Furious Axe?s for two reasons. 1) Decapitation lowers multiple targets armor allowing for Furious Axe?s to inflict greater damage.

2) Laceration when used following Furious Axe?s will slow the target allowing Lacertus to chase down his target and cause greater damage when it is needed most.
This combination in abilities gives him lane control with AOE/Line damage as well as giving him ganking power with a slow & DoT damage.

Frenzy ? Hotkey: [N/A](Frenzy is Passive)
Lacertus has spent many years in seclusion training in the Scar honing his deadly abilities amongst the Beasts and Daemons who roam there. He has mastered the ability of concentration and revels in his ability to slaughter even the largest of Daemons without breaking a sweat.

Level 1: Each point of strength passively increases the damage of Lacertu's abilities. For every point of strength the damage caused by Ferocious Axe's is increased by .1, Decapitation by .20, and Laceration by .1. Frenzy also passively increases the duration of Bloodhunger by .50 seconds.

Level 2: Each point of strength passively increases the damage of Lacertu's abilities. For every point of strength the damage caused by Ferocious Axe's is increased by .2, Decapitation by .40, and Laceration by .2. Frenzy also passively increases the duration of Bloodhunger by 1 second.

Level 3: Each point of strength passively increases the damage of Lacertu's abilities. For every point of strength the damage caused by Ferocious Axe's is increased by .3, Decapitation by .60, and Laceration by .3. Frenzy also passively increases the duration of Bloodhunger by 1.50 seconds.

Level 4: Each point of strength passively increases the damage of Lacertu's abilities. For every point of strength the damage caused by Ferocious Axe's is increased by .5, Decapitation by .80, and Laceration by .4. Frenzy also passively increases the duration of Bloodhunger by 2 seconds.

Type: No Target
Range: N/A
Cast Time: N/A
Mana Cost: N/A
Cool down: N/A

*Notes* Lacertu?s third ability Frenzy adds more damage to all of his active abilities excluding Double Throw. This added damage helps with scaling his spells into late game where physical damage tapers off. However, to keep from things becoming to powerful the added damage to Laceration is much lower as this ability causes magic damage.

If we take into account that Lacertus will have 104 strength at level 25 including +20 from Attribute Bonus Ferocious Axe's will receive an additional + 52 damage. Decapitation will receive an addition + 83.2 damage and Laceration will receive + 40.8 damage.

The bonus duration to Bloodhunger effectively increases its up time while still keeping it I feel balanced. With level 4 Frenzy and level 4 Furious Axe?s you will still only have the buff for a maximum of 8 seconds. While the ability has a 15 second cool down & is far from spammable with Lacertu?s low mana pool and small Int gain per level.

DOUBLE THROW IS LACERTU'S ULTIMATE ABILITY
http://www.diablo2.com/files/images/items/classes/barbarian/skills/combat_skills/double_throw.jpg
Double Throw ? Hotkey: [R]
Lacertu?s throws both his axe?s Laceration & Decapitation at a single target with all the fury he can muster striking down a foe with devastating force and accuracy.

Level 1: Decapitation causes 220 physical damage and lowers the targets armor by 3 for 15 seconds.
Laceration causes 65 magic damage over 5 seconds and slows the targets movement speed by 12% for 8 seconds.

Level 2: Decapitation causes 350 physical damage and lowers the targets armor by 6 for 15 seconds.
Laceration causes 130 magic damage over 5 seconds and slows the targets movement speed by 24% for
8 seconds.

Level 3: Decapitation causes 480 physical damage and lowers the targets armor by 9 for 15 seconds.
Laceration causes 195 magic damage over 5 seconds and slows the targets movement speed by 36% for 8 seconds.

Type: Single Target
Range: 600
Cast Time: Instant
Mana Cost: 195/245/295
Cool down: 80 seconds
Additional Information: Armor reduction caused by Double Throw[R] will stack with the armor reduction caused by Decapitation[W]. The DoT caused by Double Throw will stack with Laceration[E]. However, the negative movement speed caused by Laceration will not stack with the negative movement speed caused by Double Throw.

*Notes* Double Throw is Lacertu?s ultimate; I feel that this ability plays well into his two first active skills and retains the idea of his twin war axes Laceration & Decapitation. This ability also again synergizes well with Lacertu?s game play which I feel is that of an effective ganker. Double Throw?s armor reduction stacks with Decapitation for a maximum of -14 armor, which in comparison with Pestilence?s Swarm is still 1 less negative armor value, not only does this keep Pestilence as the top negative armor de-buffer, but the armor de-buff caused by combining Decapitation with Double Throw will only cause -14 armor for the first 6 seconds, after words the armor is only reduced by negative 9 for the remaining 9 seconds.

Double Throw also shares good synergy with Laceration as you can effectively cause 395 a large portion of the DoT will be caused up-front dealing 235 damage almost instantly, following up with the remaining damage. The combination of Double Throw with Laceration allows you to cause up to 875 damage to a single target 395 damage of that damage being magical and allowing you to focus on two targets at once if the opportunity is presented. This deadly combination of Double Throw and Laceration costs 370 mana, which may not seem like much, however when we take into account that at level 16 Lacertus? will only have 412.75 mana this combination leaves him with a meager 42.75 mana.

*Final Notes* A large amount of damage caused by Lacertus is physical; however his DoT effects are magic damage. All of his abilities thusly synergies well granting him IAS, bonus damage, and the ability to lower a targets physical armor.

Breakdown of Lacertu?s Stats ?
At level 5 Lacertu?s will do 51 ? 66 damage & have 3.05 armor, 34 Str / 25 Agi / 18 Int = 234 mana
At level 10 Lacertu?s will do 63 ? 78 damage & have 4.1 armor, 46.5 Str / 32.5 Agi / 24.25 Int = 318.5 mana
At level 15 Lacertu?s will do 76 ? 91 damage & have 5.15 armor, 59 Str / 40 Agi / 30.5 Int = 396.5 mana
At level 20 Lacertu?s will do 88 ? 103 damage & have 6.2 armor, 71.5 Str / 47.5 Agi / 36.75 Int = 477.75 mana
