Alternative pubbie early-mid game Chronos ?

OK guys, I know that the title sounds incredibly silly, but I just wanted to know if there are any builds out there that can allow your Chronos to at least do well in pubs when the other 4 on your team are doing too well. Coz sometimes even if I get my Steam boots , Runed Axe and EP by by the 25 min mark, the game is over =( [ Happens usually when my team's gankers / pushers are doing incredibly well ]

So yeah I was wondering if there was an alternative fun build I could use whenever the situation repeated itself.

Chronos is nothing more *coughcough* then a tempest on steroids before he gets dps items, so use him as such.

dont get runed ax. get lightning claw-> charged hammer. roughly similar for farm and more dps to heroes.
