Loggers Hatchet (225) + Loggers Hatchet (225) + Recipe(450) = Woodsmans Hatchets (900)
Woodsmans Hatchets
Passive bonuses
Increases damage against non-hero units by 40% (Melee) and 18% (Ranged).
On activation
Type: Physical
Range: 900
Mana cost: 45
Cooldown: 100 seconds
Item can not be sold (?)
On cast, throws two spinning hatchets like a boomerang clearing and cutting down any tree they come in contact with. If a hero is hit by the hatchets he will be slowed depending on how many trees that was cut down.
Slow formula: 5%*(the amount of trees cut down) for 3 seconds. The slow will not slow more than 40%.
The axes work almost like Rexxars axes from dota and they will be of similiar use. Exept they don't deal damage and they won't slow unless you cut down trees.
Imagine blood hunter with this item:D!!

minor +dmg or +movespeed would be nice on it. as it stands buying the additional item and recipe for just that effect is kind of unnecessary. your also making it far easier to clear tree's wards from range, which will upset balance.
and 900 range is beyong auto attack range. you think thats balanced? I would say the range would have to be 400-450ish

Yes cutting down tree wards would be rather easy but as the purpose of the item is to cut through forest and slow heroes on the other side it would need good range. Also the cooldown is 100 seconds, it could be raised if deemed necessary.
Most people would probably want to use the slow rather than cutting wards.
The wards are also invisible as of the new patch, in a what was it? 450 range? so you wouldn't see them anyway

 cool item. I like it. *Thumb Up*
Edit: Yea some stats would be nice though. Try adding a few branches and lowering the price of the recipe or something.

He accualy mentions that this is supposed to be like Rexxar the Beastmasters Throwing Axes which are from DotA Allstars.
So unless you created Rexxar the axes wouldn't be yours.
Edit: Saw the throwing axes you spoke of and it shuoldnt be anything like it.

I said no because it is basically Deadwoods ability in a cheap item and packagable form.
Because of this (and only because of this) the ability is OP.

I t-upped, but you need a more expensive recipe.

If you demand more price for the recipe then like 600- 650 recipe would be kinda good.
I dont think you should compare this to Deadwoods spell, i mean.. Deadwoods spell have a low cooldown and disables snares and gives more movement speed and such things. Wich is pretty good for escaping or ganking etc. And most of all he can run through any tree he wishes for the last half minute or something
This item does not how ever give the hero using the item more movement speed or any other buffs so it could be not so good at escaping. and this item will only have one activation and clear only up one path for the hero to go through for the next 100 seconds.
And if you think that this is a OP item for cutting down wards i say ''NO'', because of the long cooldown.

I disagree with you Texmex in that I believe the prime utility of Deadwoods 3rd spell is the fact that he can tree walk for himself and his team by creating a path in the woods, particularly for ganking.
And while that spell gives slow resistance, this spell actually slows the hero, making a superior ganking ability. That is why I say its OP. The slow resistance, move speed, and attack speed is just icing on the cake (and makes the ability overall more useful).
My point being is that deadwood would probably consider this item as an alternative to his 3rd ability since slowing the target will make it easier for him to setup his 1st ability.
Plus, this reduces deadwood niche to nothing since everyone will now be able to use this ability.

I like the concept, the numbers need fudging.

What about a recepy of 1100 and adding a Major Totem to the list of items required. That would raise the price by 540 and making the item in class with other spellcasting items, like: Tablet of Command and Stormspirit. Total Price of 1990.

neat ganking assister for all heros. also a way to make your own juking escape roots would be likeable by all i would think. just think a ranged hero wouldnt have to get *****ed at for accidently buying a hatchet and not reselling within 15 seconds :P
