suggest something be added to prevent noobs from afking after they get owned a few times because there too scared to disconnect instead because of precious stats which will reset anyways. everygame on either team someone ends up crying and holding position in fountain. sure stat recording is nice but downside is everyone's a stat whore and will encourage more

no team work
delay to start games cause they CHECK STATS of ALL 10 players before joining team
rage/qq afk

That has nothing to do with stat whoring. It's just the current lack of a forfeit button that causes this ominous afking :D And it is for sure not a problem with "newbs".

I went semi afk in some matches for two reasons:

1. It's very obvious that we already lost. And I see no point in slowing the inevitable.
And yes sometimes there is totally no chance to win.
Best indicator: The oppossing players have all four level higher heroes AND they have way better teamplay (perfect ganks etc.)

2. I play with Jerks.
Some guy flamed me to death because I died several times against Zeus in middle with Sven! Ok I would barely understand that if it was my fault. But I asked the ranged characters to take the middle lane for several times, even from startup. That is especially hilarious if a Luna is on your team. And no one even responded. The only response were flames. If there would be an afk kick and I would be in the same situation: I would even start to feed them on purpose. It's not nice for the silent team members but this guy hadn't anything else deserved.

And about the sense of forfeit: In wc3 tournaments and other competive level games it is assumed that you quit if you clearly lost. That is no bad sportsmanship etc. it is just a wasting of time especially for the winner when you just slow your lose.
Who watched the enemies in Starcraft destroy the last of your buildings? I didn't.

I would like to see a concede vote. But not an 50% vote. Better would 4 of five, 3 of 4. And two on two could concede when the other teammate quits ( If the other wants to )

Frankly I think any kind of no leavers system is stupid. No one should be forced to keep playing a lopsided massacre and wait for the enemy team to stop spawnraping. People only AFK because if they leave, they'll get penalized, and if it happens enough, they'll be locked out of joining some games. Penalizing leaving = people just go AFK instead (or they just jerk around and feed intentionally)

Sadly there's no way to distinguish people who join games and leave them just to cause trouble, and those who leave because the game they're in is no fun. Currently, it's very hard to tell how fair a game is going to because you have to manually check every player's stats, and shuffle teams doesn't do anything- So this kind of situation happens a lot. I'm sure it will improve once ranked play is enabled and the various special options actually work. But until then, the leaver system should be disabled, because all it does is frustrate people who want to just move on and find a better match.

It's just a fact of DotA that many matches are decided very early on. There are those really great matches that are nailbiters to the finish, and then there's your typical onesided game where the enemy team gets a few kills and then they have a huge advantage that is next to impossible to stop, even if the players improve their behavior. Few people leave just to make their teammates miserable. Personally the only "precious stat" I care about is leave percentage. I don't want to be branded a "leaver" just because a game I'm in ends up being hopeless.

*edit* what's this doing in Hero and Item suggestions anyway?

I think we forgot a very important question: what if they have to pee?

They don't pee anymore!
They just stop peeing.
