Hello!

I am mildly new to HoN, but an aged DotA fan who used to take part hugely in the previously-official-but-now-unofficial DotA-Allstars forums. On those forums, I made a hero suggestion which amongst the community (and myself) became a well-liked hero, though never quite caught the attention of the mythical Icefrog.

Thanks to Slormer, the original thread (http://forums.dota-allstars.com/index.php?showtopic=196574) at the Dota-Allstars forum has been transferred here! If you have any questions regarding the hero, feel free to ask.

http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f397/sgoodrow/SINGULARITY.gif
ULTIMATE: SINGULARITY

Type: Detonated, Knockback, Area Damage
Description: The Curator is able to collapse his spells into an unstable Singularity, which explodes, damaging nearby enemies and knocking them back. The closer the units are the greater the effect.

Level 1 - 300 max damage
Level 2 - 600 max damage
Level 3 - 900 max damageAdditional Information:
Upon casting one of his spells, if this skill is learned and available for use, the casted spell's icon will be replaced with the ability Collapse. To Collapse the spell, simply press the spell?s hotkey a second time. Once Collapsed, the spell?s regular affects will end prematurely and a detonation animation will begin at the location of the spell.
The premise is that each spell offers distinct advantages to fit different scenarios:

Demi offers increased range at the cost of imprecise placement control.
Gravity Flux offers a disable to maximize the efficiency at a cost of decreased range.
Control Matter (Self) offers increased control at a cost of range and safety.
Control Matter (Other) offers incredible range at a cost of all control.

I always liked this hero concept, very fun to play.

Man, I wish I had my own fan monkey ;;

Anyway, voted yes. I like it. Always have liked it.

The only cause for concern though is that he has a 1000 range channel blocker that doesn't require LOS @_@

Eh, I vote on the concept, not the numbers. Numbers are always negotiable, concepts are either good or bad from the outset. Even in DotA if you look at the fan concept heroes like Puck, Huskar and Tauren Chieftain you'll see that most of the numbers have been tweaked to some degree from what the author put down. TC being the most recent example with his base armor/magic resist debuff being lowered.

I did vote on concept sillybutt.

I'll be your fan monkey ANY day, creator of Moro-person.

:o

Great hero, loved it. Was actually going to send a link to the S2Fielding guy and be like, 'HEY. IMPLEMENT THIS.', but I don't remember why I didn't.

True, but who ever said it stopped channeling? After all, the enemy never actually (as a character) moved. Isn't this how Meathook works? Would allow for some neat team strategies (Glacius begins ult, ally uses Demi to throw him into the fray!)

Never really thought about that before, but its an interesting point that someone would have to decide about in testing. :)

Thanks for the support so far guys.

Very interesting and unique spells. Demi would certainly take talent to use effectively. In the end, it leaves two nukes one of which is an "AoE slow", a debuff/buff spell, and a nuke ultimate which requires a decent amount of talent to use effectively as well.

Definately a nuker disabler that would require thought to use and counter. I like it very much. Would be fun to see in the game.

Badass idea. Very creative and balanced. Sounds very fun. S2 should really consider it.

Welcome to the Top Suggestions, my friend.

Oh, and although it's a new thread, I figured I'd go ahead and put this one in here based on the past popularity.

This does not meet all the criteria, tropicaza. A minimum of 50 votes is required as stated in the Top Suggestions guidelines. This only has 44.

Moved back and opened.

NuneShelping

Hehe, it indeed did not have the 50 votes required when he moved it; but it did have the necessary number of approvals (40) such that the remaining 6 votes could have all been disapproval and it would have remained 80%. :)

Anyway!

How demi works is fairly confusing to me, but i think it'd work a bit better if it was a big blue orb traveling quickly around you in a circle which lasts for 30 seconds and does minor damage to anyone who is hit by the blue orb, but since it travels quickly around, you could use it like people do swiftblade's spin attack or pharaoh's spell which does damage around him.

Sounds fun, with a great diversity of skills, and an ulti, that can be used in many different ways, seems like a great idea. T-Up

That's a pretty good idea, but it doesn't really work for this hero. Demi is just a circular version of Devourer's Hook, with a few modifications.

If you do it and it hits one person, it will swing them around on its circular arc and drop them at your feet. If you do it and it hits one person, then another, then the first will be dropped at the 2nd's location, and the 2nd at your feet.

Does that make more sense? I hope that's clear...

Yeah, I remember your suggestion @ DotA forums, I also remember the test map. The only question I have is why did you replace armor-decreasing/increasing buff with this nerfed Ophelia's "Nature's Wrath"? Ophelia's spell has same manacost, same casting range, same cooldown, but it is more powerful - first levels of Ophelia's spell also slow the target and the buff lasts constant 7 seconds, while first two levels of current version of "Control Matter" are a joke. The fact that you can cast it on ally doesn't make a big diffirence IMO, Chen's spell is still far more powerful. Yes, it synergizes with the ultimate, but old variant of Control Matter could also be used to create a Singularity. My point is, don't throw away the "more units around = greater effect" mechanic, you can try playing with magic armor of the target like "Lowers/Increases magic armor of the target by 1 for every unit in 350/450/550/650 range, lasts 7/8/9/10 seconds. Changes every second depending on the number of units around. Reveals the target for the duration of debuff."

Obvious T-up to the Curator.

Such a nice hero idea.

I voted yes. I won't bother thinking of the synergies for skills and items. If ever this gets implemented, I always prefer to test out the new hero in a crash course.

Thanks big Z. I'd still like to hear what people think of this suggestion, in the context of HoN. Does it fit? Are any of the skills overused or too similar to someone? What do you guys think?
