Soloing mid with Pebbles

This will be a short guide on how go from playing a laning pebbles to playing a solo pebbles. A well played pebbles has the ability to one hit almost any hero in the game at around lvl 8. his combo deals over 1100 instant damage for only 240 mana if u know how to use it. This combo can be repeated every 20 seconds.

The first major change is getting a bottle as your first item and checking the runes often. A rune will spawn every 2 minutes at one of the spots on the river. Runes will fill your bottle and spam your abilities.

When soloing mid with pebbles your primary goal is xp gain. Creep stats are nice too but not if you risk taking damage. Being forced back to the well early can take away your lvl advantage (which is the reason you are soloing).

At level 5 you will have enough of a mana pool to cast both your abilities. This is when you begin to gank. Pick a lane that looks vulnerable. Give your allies in the lane plenty of warning. Come from behind the enemy and try to hit one enemy hero with both abilities. This will most likely kill any intel or agility immediatly.

Continue this strategy til you have enough for your Ring of Soccery. Once u have a larger mana pool and almost unlimited regen, feel free to nuke waves of creeps for gold. If you use this method you should have portalkey by 20 mins.

Continue ganking with portkey and continue your item build as normal. If all went well you should have a large level advantage over your enemies as well as a good amount of kills.

The stragey is very viable, but you should consinder doing to yourself, and give us a replay to show.. Alot of people think that pebbels should be a lane with a fellow stunner, which works quite nice.. But a mid peppels is just ownage..

I prefer playing pebbles bot lane, this is awesome if your team has a jungle hero. The same amount of exp plus when you're lvl 5 and ganking time starts your jungler just has to go hit them a couple of times.

Pebbles ability to solo mid is almost entirely reliant on what the enemy team has mid.

Any agi semi-carry will tear him up so hard at harass and he's got no chance :corr: :arac: :fors:

He's strong against int heroes who do their harass with magic damage :thun: :defi: :pyro:. Pebbles has low armour but high hp, so magic does less % of your hp than it would to regular heroes. Auto attack harassers do a boatload of damage due to his poopy armour.

Exception being vindicator, whom if the enemy has you should just repick. You can't combo due to his aura and you won't have ayn mana due to the drain.

Pebbles solo mid is a bit of a waste IMO. It's great it 1500+/1600+ noobie games, but you will find that you are 15-0 by 25 minutes in and the rest of your team has no farm. This is due to the fact that a pebs solo mid will most likely be solo ganking as well. His nukes are such high damage that teammates are not needed at all against all but the highest STR gain heros until level 14 or so.

If you can throw vindi at mid to completely shut down pebbles, I think that turns the game into 4v5 and no matter how you look at it you gain an advantage. You can even dual lane with vindi at mid, and put your solo in the short lane.

And yeah, like roger mentioned, a lot of heroes can take out a mid pebbles.

If you go solo mid with Pebbles, there is a problem. Either you're playing a pub game against retards, or you just enjoy running back to your fountain often. Any decent player will know how to harass you, and make you waste bottle sips.

As for the items. Starting with Bottle is bad. You do NOT have enough base damage to last hit/deny properly (especially if you're mid, where it matters most). You better off starting with logger's hatched, 1-2 Mana Pots, 1 Mark of the Novice and a few other basic supplies.
Then get your bottle delivered to you at about 2minutes. Anyways you won't need your bottle in the first 2 minutes of the game, unless you're playing over agressive and wasting all your mana on lvl 1 Avalanche and Chuck.

Pebbles mid is an horrible decision. You better let a semi-carry / mid game rapist solo this lane. Or you can dual lane with someone else, even though that's kind of a waste.

Too bad, you may have seen a replay where a Pebbles did great mid, but it's just because it was a ~1500 PSR game, with noobs, and probably even easy mode.

Watch more DotA. MYM|Angel used to take Silencer solo mid and wrecked faces. Silencer is coming back into use more as many of the top tier players are starting to acknowledge him as pretty imba. He has epic lane presence which makes him a great soloer and then he has epic team fight presence. There's really nothing bad about this hero aside from his crap HP. Let's put it this way, lately I've been seeing him put as a solo in side lanes against two and he does well, so yeah check your assumptions about Vindi soloing mid.

Why would you get nomes on him? He has a low mana pool, low mana regen and uses his mana in quick bursts. And what would you use your boots first for? Run in and waste your mana early on, when your combo doesn't do enough damage to kill the opponent?

And for the people calling Pebbles bad solo mid are just dumb. He requires a crap load of skill to pull off against a good solo mid, but Phe`V's Pebbles comes to mind. Go watch some of his games, where he will DOMINATE as mid even against good players:

That being said, it is SO hard to pull off against a good ranged mid. I would also guess that a bottle abusing pebbles could beat a vindi solo mid, but it is a very tough matchup for sure.

Pebbels sucks big time in easy mode.. The time where he shines, the 8+ and toward the late game will be over so fast in em.. Which takes the fun out of playing pebbels :(
