Map editor?

I realy cant find any info on that. Dunno if thats the forum I must post this, but is there any info if there will be a map editor able to make custom games alla warcraft3. It will be great to have custom maps..

Hmm does this game really need a map editor? Im kind of torn on the idea... Normally I like map editors but I fear it is this going to be like Warcraft all over. People buy warcraft and dont play warcraft they play Dota...

Make a Dota game and people dont play it they play *joe blows awesome custom map of doom*.

Plus half the attraction of this game is the stats/records/(tournaments???) and none of those can apply to a non-official map.

There was a thread back in week one. The map editor has been confirmed. Not only will you be able to make custom maps, but K2 Script will allow you to program user made models and events. A Tower Defense map is apparently well within the capabilities. Models are made with 3ds Max and exported for K2. They are making the game very modder friendly. You can copy stats to a non S2Games server when you're creating a game, so I wouldn't be surprised if mods will be able to have stat tracking.

Empowering the open source community to create user content is never a bad thing.. for this game or any game all it leads to is innovation and a win for the consumers.

Look at Dota, look at Counterstrike for good examples of this 'phenomenon'

If the map editor is implemented, all I hope for is that when searching for games, you can check a box to show/hide custom maps.

Your complaint/concern about a HoN map editor is that someone might make a game that's more fun to play? If that does happen, I'll be happy, but I doubt it will. :)

Nice..Im a 3D artist myself...Furthermore, I would like to see HoN to become the new base for custom maps and people move to HoN from War3.. I'm looking forward for a release of the map editor
