View Full Version : Mod: DotA names to HoN names

I was wondering if it was possibly to create a mod, so whenever someone says "pudge" it translates to "devourer" in the chat. I'm getting pretty tired of every single dota player being unable to say the right name. And their answer is always the typical "but this is dota". So to get rid of one of the most annoying things for me atm, I was wondering if you could add a filter for yourself. This should be added for shop too, I don't feel like alt-tabbing to the thread everytime someone says I have no clue what it is.
"buy vanguard" - "and that is what in HoN?" - "lol noob".
"kill pudge" - "who?" - "lol devourer ffs"

i just was like that too, but i got used to the names after several games
ppl think the dota stuff is more known, so they act like that

The fact is, 90% of us are DotA players...
But yeah. I do use HoN terminology when I can for the 10% who are not.

Instead of having something in chat that does that, I would just rather a feature that lets you pick what you want, DotA terminology or HoN terminology.
What I mean is that in the shops and for the heroes taken from DotA, Bracer comes up as Bracer and not whatever it is in HoN. In fact I don't even remember the names of anything as far as HoN terminology go. I just buy things according to the price.
As for those heroes that are unique to HoN, it's fine leaving their name as is.

That would get really confusing. I'm thinking a "translation" with dota names in parentheses might be a acceptable compromise. HoN will continue to split further away from DotA as time goes on.
