View Full Version : Why does potions sometimes disappear without healing?

Happened very often to me, I healed myself and there was the animation, however sometimes it stops after few seconds. It supposed to heal for like 30 seconds (does but rarely).

I noticed it has to do something with moving, for example when I heal and press on the map or attack someone then it stops healing.

Is that a bug or I cannot do any movement while healing?

I would really love to see some replies because this is really annoying. Each potion is 100 gold and each game I waste like 400 gold on potions that didn't worked.

i think if you take damage, it stops.

And why is that? Is that a bug? I probably used potions while attacking creeps.
As far as I remember there is no such thing/bug in real DotA.

Perhaps you should read item descriptions.

exactly the same in dota, it is to stop people poting in fight making them that much longer and boring

I see. I haven't played real DotA for ages, probably I forgot or I haven't used potions that often as I do right now.

Thanks guys.

The potion you are using is exactly the same as the healing salve that can be found in DotA.

What you might be used to using are Tangos (90 gold, 3 charges) which can be found in HoN with the same effects, the item is called Rune of Blight. These do not stop working upon taking damage.

Potions, be they health or mana, are dispelled upon damage.
Hence when using them, be sure to hang back behind your creep wave abit.

the tooltip description for Healing Potion, Mana Potion, Bottle, and Rune of Regeneration all say "dispel upon damage".
