Stats (twice upgradeable):
+10/12/15 Agility
+10/12/15 Damage
+10/15/20 Attack Speed
+100/125/150% Mana regeneration

Type: Magic
Ability: Passive
Target: All Organic Units
Effects: Applies a DoT (Damage over Time) that lasts 5/7/10 seconds and deals 5/10/15 magic damage per second to your target enemy as soon as you hit him. This effect does not stack and is non-lethal.

Item Ingredients:

Detailed: Quickblade 1000g + Steamstaff 900g + Manatube 875g + Recipe 525g = 3300/3825/4350g.

Goal of the item:
As far as I know there is only one item in the game that applies a DoT as an Aura at the moment named Mock of Brilliance. So my intention was to add a new item for mainly ranged carry heroes (but also melee ones) that on one side gives them the ability to apply a dot to portal key users and on the other side allows for decent pre- and afterbattle harassment. Why non-lethal you ask? Well there are many heroes in the game that already have pretty strong DoT abilties and if it was lethal it would become quite overpowered with a hero like Slither (due to the duration).

Any input on this item would be nice. :)

Why does this item have Mana Regeneration in it? It doesn't feel like its supposed to be there o_O

Otherwise not bad item I suppose, I suppose it counters escaping with PK, well I dunno how much thats needed really but interesting to have as an option.

I want to hear about the Mana Regeneration before I make a vote.

Just for reference, you can add a poll to your existing thread. Here's how (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=77835).

Good luck with your item suggestion!

Ok item, yes another DoT item would be Good but the mana regen is not needed probably in place of health regen or just remove it.

i agree i like the idea of another DOT item but the mana regen just isnt needed... mayba firebrand? instead?

The mana regen was intended for heroes like Vindicator, Arachna, Forsaken Archer etc... that have quite a bit of mana consumption from their spells (like Vindicator using up mana for every attack of Master's Incantation) and can thus be more effective while also having an item that allows them to carry better. My first intention had Scarab in mind for a lower Mana Regen, but a lower mana regen would hardly balance their consumption.

So let's say you have an Arachna at level 16 and want to keep those enemies slowed, however you can't because you used your ulti and Harden Carapace in the battle and drained your whole mana... so how are you going to get those webbed shots out? Currently the only decent mana regen items for carries are Runed Axe and Hellflower, which aren't too great for a ranged semi-carry/carry.

yes the mana regen is ok but being an agi item intel characters wont need that agi boost and will look to other forms of mana regen before this

Possibly add a ring of sorcery into the item instead of the manatube yeah it will cost more but with a much better effect?

It would become to powerful with the addition of a Ring of Sorcery effect.

Maybe have it like the steamboots and make it: Mighty Blade/Quickblade/Neophyte's Book to choose from and toggle it at wish, but that would make it a bit powerful aswell to my likings. Ranged Agility heroes were my first intention: Soulstealer, Arachna, Forsaken Archer, Moon Queen, Valkyrie, Slither... you get the idea.

yeah the idea of finally giving agility/strength hero's a mana regen item had to come one day, but this one is just hard to see working without a little more effectiveness. agreeing with keeping the cost low with the option of upgrade, but pointing out the manatube starts at 100% were the combined item is 75% y not make it 100/150/200?

Oh yeah, for a moment I believed it was 75%. Mustve mistaken because of the old Scarab I had in mind. Will change it. Thanks for pointing it out. :)

Glad you like it. :)

Any more feedback or suggestions for a change?

Alright I suppose thats a good enough reason to leave the mana regeneration in. Hellflower is still an option imo but this would work well too.

If you vote "no", please state why you did so, so I can work on the problem and see if it can be fixed.

its a decent idea, but im not sure about the quickblade in recipe, maybe make it like steamboots, so it would take one of the +10 stats items to build, and then can be toggled. might be overpowered then though? right now i can see strength heroes wanting to use this item, but the +agi isnt that good for them.
i love the mana regen part, as it would be a nice alternative to the other mana regen items you might get on a mana intensive ganker/carry (hellflower, runed axe)

Thanks for the feedback. I don't know how you voted, but even if it was no, it was atleast better than the other 4 no votes without a post on how to improve.

Back to the item: Yes I consider making it able to toggle between agi/str/int quite overpowered. Just like the Nullfireblade would be way overpowered if it had 20 of each with a toggle.

Change Manatube to Major Totem, Fleetfeet or Bolstering Armband or something. I can undestand why the Manatube is there but it makes this item a little too.... not OP but powerful.

But I really like the Idea. Would be really nice on a hero like Pebbles.

Quoting from another forum so others are aware of the problem this guy is concerned about: "Oh. I voted no. I don't like the idea of it. I thought it was a Mock without the +60 damage which sounded solid, but it turned out to be a simple Mock for invis heroes. And I hate invis heroes."

My answer: "Why would it be for invis heroes? It only applies on attack, it's not an aura like Mock. So they go in autoattack and run away? The enemy will only suffer 100 non-lethal magic damage. It's not like an invis hero could abuse that"

One more day to vote before the poll closes. If you feel this item is a good idea, then a yes is appropriate. If you feel like it doesn't suit the game, tell me why so we can find a solution to fix that problem.
