Chile Earthquake

Well, I'm still having problems with Internet (seems saturated) but I can connect to a few webpages, this included.

For those who don't know, yesterday there was a massive earthquake of 8,8 (Haiti was 7,0 in Ritcher Scale) here in Chile. Thats a lot more powerful than the one in Haiti, but we were expecting this from like 10 years ago. The funny thing is that I didn't feel it XD. I was returning with a friend to his place from a concert in Valparaiso which ended like 3:00 AM (We were seeing Lucybell), so I bought something to eat and then took the bus back his place. Suddenly I started seeing a lot of debris in the streets and people running, then there was a blackout (3:24 AM). When we got to Vi?a people filled the bus talking about the earthquake and how some facades fell to the ground (minor damage btw).

Then was like those sci-fi movies: no radio, no electricity, no cell phones... we just saw the debris on the floor on our way his home lighted by the full moon. When the first radio went online I had a lot of expectation, but everyone seemed to be ok.

Next day I could comunicate with my parents and they were ok, so was my house... just some glass cups broke but nothing more. The problem right now is near the epicenter, where there was like total destruction, and no comunication.

Please if you pray, do it for the victims of Concepcion and it's surroundings... If you don't, maybe donate some money to the Red Cross, any will be appreciated

Chile's prepared for Earthquakes, their buildings are built to code.

Remember guys, unlike many other countries in South America or the Carribbean, Chile is quite a progressive country(Most if I recall, with Argentina next most). So they have the technology, building codes, engineering and emergency services available for Earthquakes(especially since they had the biggest recorded earthquake in history at 9.5 in 1960).

Glad to see the death toll is only .1% of Haiti's. Chile will rebuild, and I'm sure help from international organizations will come in and speed it up.

This was some very sad news to hear, I have a friend that lives in Chile. She is ok, but yeah the chaos over there is immense. Thank goodness it's not nearly asbad as Haiti

My sincerest condolences once more, but I still think HAARP is behind this. There have been reports of an aurora above the affected area, something that is impossible to naturally appear other than in the cold north/Antarctica.

Despite being warned of an earthquake to occur, I'm not buying this. I'll report back once I find some more information. Hope you guys there are recovering rapidly, and look out for plundering people.

While I do agree I do not believe everything at the first sight, I always reserve judgement and find the truth.

Believe what you want but first here's some facts:

1.- The "aurora" was in fact the sparks of a lot of simultaneus power towers being disconnected because of the shaking

2.- In fact we were looking for this earthquake since '85

3.- I've read the HAARP stuff and they said quakes had always the same depth of epicenter, this was not the case (was much deeper)
