OAK BRANCH
Passive Bonuses:
+1 Armor
Cost: 53 gold
Why?
A cheap early game item that gives some armor. This can be used on certain heroes with little to no base armor instead of totems.
They can be sold back with little gold lost, like totems.
Recipe:
2x Oak branch = 2x 53 = 106g
1x Crushing Claws = 150g
-----------------------
Copper Crown = 256g
Passive Bonuses:
+4 Strength
+2 Armor
A cheap item that gives some HP and EHP, armor, for those early game squishy heroes. This can be bought instead of bracers for people who want to skip some agi/int to get some bonus armor instead.

Hrm Interesting idea, I'm not entirely sure how much use this item would see. I can't think of any hero I've started with and gone damn I can't buy some cheap armor lol, but still this might be useful, I'll give it a vote, coz I don't see anything wrong with it and like I said could be good.
I'd rather take something currently in the Popular Suggestions though, some guy has suggested Iron Shield alternatives with Str and Int instead, the Str one is nice.

Seems like an unnecessary item, considering ring of the guardian is 175 for 2 armor. Yes, your item is cheaper, but maybe a little too cheap.
Also, i think even at 53 gold a minor totem would be better, because it gives .1 armor (which, compared to 1 armor, isn't that bad) AND more health and health regen.

i really like the copper crown idea. I'm not sure how necessary a +1 armor item would be, but it's definitely worth consideration. T-UP.

53 gold for 1 armor is pretty cheap yes, but it fills 1 item slot, you could use it for early game items, like my Copper Crown idea, or something like a power supply with armor.
Totems are just there to get some cheap early game stats. Later on you just sell them, or destroy them. Oak Branch will be used for some early game armor.

Then by that logic, the minor totems are unnecessary, considering pretender's crown is 185 for +2 stats.

someone is gonna find a way to abuse this...somehow
also:
chainmail - 550g - +5 armor
x5 Oak branch - 265g - +5 armor
Even though it takes up 5 slots... yea.
just get a ring dammit

Even though i don't think 5 oak branches would be practical he has a point. Increase the cost to like 90g or something.

5 armor is not game breaking, especially not when it fills up 5 item slots. Someone with a chainmail early game isn't OP either.
You can buy 5 for just 265g, 5 armor for 265g is quite good, but it takes 5 slots, so if you want to upgrade any items you have to sell them just like minor totems.
If you would increase the cost to 90g you can better buy a ring. The reason behind this idea is to get some cheap early game armor, mid-late game the few armor you'll get from the branches will be neglectible

major totem - 540g - +4 to all stats
x4 minor totem - 212g - +4 to all stats
wow, minor totem must be imba
the cost is alrite, its more about the huge amount of item slots it takes up just to get some decent stats going, just like minor totem. seems like an alrite item tho, i dunno about its viability, the recipe idea is pretty good tho. i could probably see myself getting that item on a hero when im expecting some early harrassment, especially on heroes with a decent base armour could be fairly good.

You know I think I might buy some of those Copper Crowns on Keeper of the Forest for awesomeness, he doesn't need Agi or Int. This really is a brilliant basic idea :) Not that its going to do much, its more of a, why don't we already have this? idea lol
